This hike was an experience! Wow! We started out with great weather conditions - lots of sun. After walking 1 hour (up and only up) it started to be super windy and we had to put on another layer. Then it started to snow... like...More
This is a must-do in El Chaltén, nice views and a fun exercise to get to the mirador. Already worths to get to the mirador, it has an amazing view, but going to the top of the hill is very satisfying but difficult.
Did this in November 2017.
In my opinion, this trek is way better than Fitz Roy and Laguna Torre. It is easier to hike and you get a view of both Fitz Roy & Cerro Torre on a clear day.

If you have only one day in El Chalten and it happens to be a clear day, do not hesitate and do this hike. You will get to see mountains most of the way and you will be rewarded at the end with a view...More
This trek is so worthwhile. Up at the top, in a clear day, you will have the very best view of Cerro Torre and Cerro Fitz Roy together in a beautiful angle you just don't achieve from walking up to their respective lagunas.
