Small in height, big on personality (613m). Whilst once of the smallest hills in an area of smaller hills this needs to be visited if your in the area. For non-walker/climbers it worth seeing just to appreciate its striking shape from different directions. For those...More

This hike was incredible. You have the option of just skirting around the mountain or can hike up to the eastern section of the summit. (The views are worth it, just do it!)

This is a beautiful hike with easy parking and a well-marked trail. Absolutely worth walking - the trip took us a couple of hours and a reasonably good hiker could do the round trip in under 3. My only regret is we didn't go all...More

520m climb to the loop around the mountain or 800m if you go up to the ridge. Both give you views all the way round. More interesting (and out of the prevailing wind) is the go round anti clockwise.

What a mountain! Climbed it 50yrs ago as a child but sadly unable to make it now due to knee problems, but its just spectacular. We saw it whilst doing the NC500, a beautiful area on a beautiful day. Shame about the wee beasties!!!

A wonderful mountain to walk around or up. Even walking around the base is beautiful, but worth walking up for the great views.

A strenuous hike and quite steep at times, well worth the effort for the views. Wear proper boots and mountain gear. Don't assume this is a walk in park.

Lovely walk and stunning views. Took about 4hours with a 4yo pace! A couple of scrambling sections but very doable!

The ascent is quite demanding physically in places with large rocks to contend with but it is well work the effort the reach the peak. Superb vistas and, when we visited, the weather was magnificent so we really could see for miles. Take water and...More

We climbed Stac Pollaidh on our NC500 trip and it was worth the stop. The climb is steep up winding steps, but it is not technically difficult or long (1.5-2 hours there and back). We were blessed with outstanding views as far as the eye...More

Most fit dogs would manage the path I think, but in places the path to the summit is narrow and if the hill was busy, a roaming dog might be unsettling for others. The circular route around the hill 'root' would possibly... More
