We really loved our day here. We didn’t go into the house as we had dogs with us but we spent the day walking around the grounds, which are spectacular. The walled garden in particular is lovely. We had lunch on the terrace and it...More

Stopped off here travelling to Northumberland. Very impressive stately home with helpful informative staff. I did feel only the minimum rooms possible were open to the public and more could be accessible. The gardens are incredible and lovely to see. Worth a few hours here.

Very interesting Stately Home. Unfortunately one of the restaurants was closed so we had a longish walk to the second one but food, service and home baking made it worthwhile. The video made by the present duke was interesting and informative .

Fabulous walled gardens, perhaps we were a couple of weeks too late to see late summer borders at their peak, but nonetheless a fab garden, the apple orchard also wonderful, and glasshouses filled to the brim with beautiful fuschias, streptocarpus and many more. The inside...More
