This was on my walk from the Ballachulish Hotel to the bridge. Glad there was information to explain the monument. There are many steps to climb.

You can view the monument and then go across the bridge and view Loch Linnhe from one side and Loch Leven on the other side. Beautiful views.

We found this memorial by accident as we went for a walk after breakfast before we left the hotel. There are information boards explaining the history of James Stewart who was hanged after being wrongly accused of murder in 1752.

Found this little gem up by the bridge into Ballachulish. Very touching. A short where an executing took place 300 years ago. Nice little walk up from the wavefront.

Quite a climb for someone from Lincolnshire, but a nice viewpoint .The memorial is well kept and informative.

Whilst historically interesting there not an awful lot to see. Worthwhile stopping foe a visit if you're in this part of the Highlands.

We have visited thus often over the past 50 years. The story is very moving and encourages you to read Robert Louis Stevensons Kidnapped

we found this whilst we were taking a stroll from the hotel along part of the disused railway line. We had no idea of this and of the sad story connected with the monument.
