This is a good flat walk on tarmac or grass. Views are lovely and there are a few benches and exercise stations along the route. You can get good coffee etc. at the Lock House cafe at Sluice Bridge.

A beautiful park for an afternoon stroll with the dog. We had been to nearby Snipe Dales for a walk but dog friendly is only a couple of miles so decided to extend our walk here instead.

This park is absolutely beautiful, very very well kept. There is lots of dog bins about and the odd sign telling you what wildlife etc is about.

Free parking and really easy to find.

We ventured out of the park alongside the river then cut back in to the picnic area. The picnic area was great, fenced off from the rest of the park and the tables were nice and big. They have bbq trays on top too for anyone who would like to have a bbq whilst there.

We were very impressed with this park, it finished our day off nicely.

We spent most of the day here, on the hottest day of the year picnicing in the shade of the trees.

It was quiet, dog friendly, and we were surprised at how few people were around. Free parking is good. Only issue is there are no public toilets.

This was a pleasant surprise, I lived in Boston years ago and this has been made into a very nice walking area which used to be fields and wasteland.

Used to run through there. Pestered by dogs then. Went back for old times sake. Even when walking some dog owners let their dogs jump up you. Wouldn’t go unless you like dogs and their owners as they don’t seem to understand that not everyone wants to be pestered by their dog. Keep it on a lead if you can’t control it.

The Country Park in Boston is a nice peaceful place to walk around far away from the busy streets of Boston Town. Good paths and well sign posted with some seating scattered here and there.

We like walking and we like parks, therefore wherever we go we look out for a new park to have a look at and to get some exercise. We have been to Boston many times before but Sunday was the first time that we were able to indulge in our little habit there, this time at Witham Way Country Park just a mile or so to the north of Boston town centre. I have to say that we were severely disappointed by what we found - a small park that has so much potential and is so seriously not living up to it! Obviously the park management must largely at fault for many of the faults and deficiencies we found but whether this is due to lack of funds, lack of planning or what, I am unable to say but let me tell you some of the basic problems there.

This Sunday afternoon was lovely, dry and sunny and the place should have been very busy - it was not, so why not? The whole place seemed very neglected with little plant maintenance apparent with bushes and trees overgrown and crowding out the pathways at times. Not enough benches for us elderly visitors to rest upon as we walked around. Few picnic tables to attract families except in the unkempt picnic area close to the main entrance. This picnic area was in a disgusting state with one central bin that was only half full, yet rubbish and plastic bottles were strewn around. Evidently a lot of it's users couldn't care less about their litter just leaving it to the wind and others to dispose of. Lots of dog walkers. Most had their pets on leads but enough allowed them to run free, no doubt allowing them to do their business anywhere - I didn't see many owners cleaning up after their dogs either.

To sum up, a sad and neglected little park that needs attention and care to bring it up to the standard of similar sized parks in other parts of the country. We won't be visiting again.
