I have been visting the gardens for many years and watched them extend to the west and east. A very special place to visit if you love informal gardens. The restaurant in the house provide good simple traditional meals and refreshments.

Popped in for a quick lunch, big mistake. The cheese scone with salad and slice of cheese was appalling. The scone would sink a battleship, rubbery cheese with salad without dressing. We were so disappointed we didn't even bother visiting the gardens.
