This is such an impressive sculpture. Tommy is huge so makes an immediate visual impression, but it is also a very emotive piece. Hard not to be moved by the sight of it.

Seaham isn't exactly a place for tourists to aim for with its views across the Sea and mix of coffee shops and seaside residences. However, in the middle, a stand out sight is 'Tommy'. Looking tired and strong with his back to the waves, this...More

Not much that you can say other than stunning. Great memorial and beautiful to see. A fitting addition to the war memorial

Were staying at Seaham Hall and decided to have a look at the sea and the harbour. Came across this sculpture, therefore, by chance. Very impressive and poignant. Glad we didn't miss it.

Well worth a visit and there's another sculpture in the harbour a lot more character than the Angel of the north.

Interesting memorial to the fallen of the Great War. A reminder to all of the tragedy of war. Visitors leave donations on the seat of the soldier. I just hope that they all go to a worthy cause.

First visit to Seaham and had been told to visit Tommy...what a fantastic piece of artwork depicting a WW1 soldier. Very thought provoking and moving. So glad we went.
