I was impressed to note that - almost 10 months later - all the memorials from last year were all tidy and secure. For the NE that is impressive

This is the first thing I take visitors to see. I find it moving and thought provoking every time I see it. Plenty of coffee shops, restaurants and bars in the area, and good views out to sea.

As many memorials across the uk but this has "Tommy", The WWI soldier commemorating the 11 th day of November 1918 when armistice was called. This gave "Tommy" his correct name of 1101. You can easily picture the need to rest after months/years of battling...More

The memorial is on a central green with sea views, car parking and a parade of shops and eateries behind. It’s a lovely focal point in the middle of the town and on a good day is nice for a quick picnic or ice cream....More

Seaham has a naval history of which it is very proud of and this is highlighted throughout the town bear the seaside road
