This quiet beach in the middle of the town is the small beach to the west (on your right when facing the sea) of the Balcony of Europe.

Tuesday 10th May and we visited the resort town of Nerja where this small sandy beach is located on the right hand side of the iconic Balcón de Europa. It is the smaller of the two beaches that are either side of the Balcón.
The crescent shaped beach stretches about 200 metres (656 feet) long and is 20 metres (65 feet) wide at it's deepest point. The white coloured sand is washed by the gentle clear waters of Mediterranean Sea. Access to the beach is down a rather steep ramp.
It is in a picturesque setting with the Balcón de Europa on one side, some large rocks and the mountains behind it.
There are a number of bars & restaurants along the promenade at the back of the beach.
It is not really a beach visited by tourist, apart from sightseeing or a view from above. It does get busy with local people. Most people brought their own sunloungers and umbrellas to the beach.

Depending on what you are looking for exactly this could be the beach for you. It is very centrally located which is a benefit in one way but does mean that it gets very busy in the high season.
Having said that, it is very lovely and great to spend an hour or two relaxing in such beautiful surroundings. The beach itself is kept very clean and their own excellent facilities everywhere.
However, we preferred a little more relaxation so we used to go to the beach is a little further out of town as we had a car.

The Playa El Salon has an easy access near the city center. It has space and we spent a pleasant day there.

Nerja is a lovely place but the beach area is tiny for the number of visitors. So if beaches are your thing then you might want to pick another destination.

El Salón Beach is one of Nerja’s larger beaches with over 200 meters of sand and surf. This beach generally won’t be extremely overcrowded as there is only one way to get to the beach and the access road can be difficult to find so it can be a nice quiet place to relax and listen to the crashing waves of the Mediterranean Sea.

This beach is more or less in the centre, it was pretty close to our hotel the plaza cavana. Nice beach and not too busy when we visited.

This beach has a great location. However there are no amenities. I much prefer going a bit west of town for much better beaches and amenities.

This was my favorite beach in Nerja--not very crowded and the sand was so soft. The water had a sand bottom as far out as I swam. The shore has great stones for skipping! It was more peaceful than Playa Burriana, and not rocky like Playa el Chucho. Also, you can explore the "cave" area at the east end of the beach--very cool!

We love this beach...visited lots of times. Hidden away down an alleyway from the Balcon Church square. Quite steep bank but ok for a pushchair. A few toilets, showers and small kiosk for snacks. Sometimes get very big waves and do need to watch children as water gets deep very quickly. Very clear water. Church bells toll above you.

Si, hay parking cerca, pero como todos, muy caros. Es subterráneo y hay cámaras, al menos está vigilado. Pero ya te digo, que es carrete!
