For those of us old enough and were travelling to Spain upto 2002 will remember the Peseta which was the currency of Spain from 1868 till 1999 and ceased to be a legal monetary system by 2002 when it was replaced by the € ,the previous currency before the Peseta was the Peso ( Peso De Ocho ) .
Along Paseo Maritimo Rey De Espana is this fantastic monument in honour of the Peseta ,the work of sculptor José Gómez Guerrero, the monument is so eye catching ,very photogenic ,adds to the joy of walking along this beautiful promenade,it evokes in me memories of holidays from another century when I was younger dumber and thinner ,ha ha,it's a monument to most definitely check out ,the perfect selfie monument .

One of the most famous landmarks along Paseo Maritimo Rey De Espana is Monumento A La Peseta.
The work of renowned Spanish sculptor José Gómez Guerrero, this was the first monument in Spain dedicated to the former Spanish currency ,it's a great looking monument ,a real selfie opportunity ,it's a monument that brings back happy memories of my first holidays to Spain over 30 years ago and using this currency in resorts such as Benidorm,Salou and of course Fuengirola ,it's a wonderful monument to check out if you're walking down Paseo Maritimo Rey De Espana near Los Boliches .

I was walking along the beach when I saw this monument with the peseta on one side and the king Juan Carlos on the other side. Cute monument to the peseta.

A monument to currency Euro, really? With so many people and things to celebrate, does not make sense to have one for Euro?

An odd monument built to celebrate Spain joining the euro currency twenty years ago.
It is next to the beach in Los Boliches on the promenade. No mention is made of the subsequent major economic disaster for Spain after the eurozone's economic crash that followed a few years after.

Hello,
I would like to know if there are any waterslides in Los Boliches or Fuengirola please? We have four children ranging in age from 7 to 13.
Thank you

There is a waterpark close to fuengirola. If you pass from fuengirola in the direction of malaga there is a waterpark on the right hand side.
Aprox 5km past fuengirola I think
We Did not visit it - but it looked pretty decent.
Happy travels.
Kevin and family.
