One of the joys of the Costa Del Sol is Paseo Maritime Promenade ( Paseo Maritimo Rey De Espana ) ,this beachfront promenade is just over 8 kilometres long ,it's brings you past all the great beaches that form the Costa Del Sol in this region including the resorts of Fuengirola ,Los Boliches and Benalmádena ,along this promenade are all manner of cafés,pubs, bars, restaurants and of course the world famous chiringuito's ,there's also plenty of hotels along the promenade and day or night it's always busy and well worth checking out if you're planning a holiday go this area of the Costa Del Sol.

This is a lovely area for walking. Plenty of cafe/bars to visit on the route. It’s a long promenade. If you wanted you could walk one way and get the free bus through the town to return. We walked all the way to Benalmaedena. Popular with locals.

This walk literally goes for ever, it is flat, plenty of things to see along the way, many beachside grills to enjoy, public toilets are spread along the walk, there are outside gyms to keep the fitness junkies entertained, all in all it is an amazing part of the beach front.

This promenade is one of the longest in Spain. It is 8 kilometers long. All the way on the other side, you can see the gorgeous sandy beach.
The promenade is also very wide. Although it is very popular, it doesn't get very crowded.
There are plenty of traditional chirinquitos and other bars or restaurants to stop by.

Although my twin brother Stephen and I were staying in Benalmádena we jumped the Renfe down to Fuengirola, one of the first places we headed to was Paseo Maritimo De Fuengirola, an absolutely fantastic promenade that's just a joy to visit.
The promenade is superb, besides the great views of the Mediterranean Sea you also have the wonderful benches, one of the most popular beaches is Playa De Fuengirola, a pristine stretch of sand ,along the promenade are all manner of pubs, bars and restaurants, love nothing better than strolling down here and dropping into a pub or bar to enjoy an iced cold Mahou green beer and watching the world rush by, all in all its most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area or if you're planning to visit Fuengirola.

Are you allowed to cycle it? Does it go to other towns?

Hi,
Many many people do cycle the Paseo Maritimo, so if you take care and give way to pedestrians there should not be a problem. It is not entirely clear whether you are able to cycle on the paseo, or not. It is quite a wide paseo in most places, so generally there is enough space for everyone.
The paseo is about 6.7km long. One end has the Castillo Souhail of Fuengirola and it is difficult to cycle much beyond here. At the other end is the area known as Carihuela and by this time you will have passed Fuengirola Port and Marina and Los Boliches. Outside of these extremes you would have to use the main coast road to get any further and that is something that I would not recommend.

Try the skate park bar and restaurant near to the Miramar shopping centre. It’s lively, vibrant, the food is lovely, freshly cooked and it’s full of children skateboarding and using the fitness park right next to it. You order the food and get a number, which they call out when it’s ready and go to collect. The vast amount of locals eating here probably says it all. We’ve been there a few times and it’s excellent value for money. Probably about a 10-15 minute walk from the seafront. Also near to this is the crazy golf. It closes about seven but they do food and drink as well. The service here was excellent. Not as cheap as skatepark but food very nice.

Palma is in Majorca - an island of the east coast of Spain.
Fuengirola is in the south of Spain.
There are probably a Paseo Maritimo in a lot of Spanish coastal towns - make sure you get the right one :)
