You will inevitably see this if you're in the center of town as it's right by the big bell tower. It's a nice monument - bigger than I thought it would be with an interesting history.

We found the monument easily enough. It's not too far from Ptuj Castle and is surrounded by shops and eateries. The monument itself is not that interesting. We just visited it briefly and sat at the base of the monument for a while.

White, old marble block is standing near the Town tower. It is carved and decorated with famous singer and musician Orpheus who is looking for her wife Eurydice. Always open and free. You can find something similar just in Šempeter.

16 foot high Roman tombstone/monument situated in front of the city clock tower. The relief is very worn, but depicts Orpheus, lamenting Eurydice.

Rare exhibit, must see. On display during spring, summer, fall. Covered/protected during winter. Nice cafes around it, you can sit and relax a bit. Must see!

Just check my picture and you will see how "great" this monument is under the tower of the church : it is simply unvisible because it is covered to be protected! Because of renovations according to the tourist office. But sorry, at least put a...More
