This is not an explosion crater, but was formed from a collapse. The water surface rises and falls according to the water table. The colors around the crater give you an idea of how different this is from the black lava toward the east.

While interesting to see, and pretty to experience,this is a nice-to-do on the way past. Personally I wouldn't go out of my way to see it. But there again..... fomo is real!

Well worth a stop off if you are on the golden circle. A natural crater which has filled with water. Colourful, tranquil and a real natural wonder.

It's a nice hike around the crater and good views above and down low. A bit pricey to get in but you should still stop.
