Good for any type of visit

Beautiful area and park setting. Friendly folks at the entrance gate. The nature trail at the end of the parking area was really nice. A managed trail which allows you to appreciate the area, dunes without stomping on them and the beauty was fantastic.

Beautiful beaches and hiking trails but the absolute worst biking paths!
Aug 2021
Grayton State Park and the Grayton Beach were some of the most beautiful areas along the emerald coast. The beach has crystal clear waters and the beaches are so clean. The beach area is a 10 out of 10! The state park is great for hiking the 4.5 mile trails but they are a 0 for 10 for biking. The paths are not kept up for biking - too many very large tree roots in the paths and the sand is so thick that it makes bicycling impossible in most of the areas.

Beautiful 30A Beach Access without the Crowds
Jul 2021 • Friends
This was the best way to access a 30A beach without hunting for parking or being on a packed beach with rows and rows of beach goers. The park opens at 8am, and we never got there later than 10am during the week. Recommend getting there close to opening to ensure parking and a spot close to the beach access. They stop letting people in once the parking lot (which is small) is full. They will allow people in as people leave. The beach area is pretty long compared to the amount of parking. You will be able to spread out and have space to yourself. The access from the parking lot to the beach was close. We brought a wagon, tent, and chairs. I didn’t see any beach umbrella or chair rentals, so bring your own stuff. There are no dogs allowed on the beach, so leave them at home. The water was beautiful and we saw fish, stingrays, and even a manatee! We brought snorkels to check the fish. We visited the park 3 days during the week and always had a great view right at the water. There are showers and bathrooms at the parking lot. Be sure to check out the nature trail before leaving the park as well.

Grayton Beach State Park
Jun 2021
Grayton Beach has Western Lake a coastal dune lake, its serene, 100 acre. You can swim, fish, paddle board. The backwater is home to alligators, snakes, bass and wildlife. Lots of wading birds. You have 50 feet of sand to the Gulf of Mexico.

Nice beaches
Jun 2021
We spent the morning at the beach. Nice, clean beach fairly close to parking (although we got there early for better parking). Not nearly as crowded as the public beaches closer to Sandestin. Lovely little lake with a nice, easy hiking trail. There are bathrooms near the beach and an outdoor shower but no changing area, so we had to change in the bathrooms.

Clean, nice park

We stopped in overnight here. Nice sites, good facilities. The beach is a ways tho, we walked to it and it took a while. Pack a bicycle or expect to drive to get to the water daily.

Great for children
May 2021
This was a great beach for our grandchildren, ages 8, 6, and 3. We went everyday for 6 days. The only time we could not get in was on a Saturday morning. The parking and restrooms were convenient. There were several picnic tables under a pavilion and we saw a park ranger on the beach almost every day. If I go back to this area I will try to find a house closer to this beach. We were a 20 minute drive away.

The white sand is fine like sugar

Grayton Beach State Park is part of the Florida State Park System and as such does charge an entrance fee. However, it is well worth it as it has clean changing rooms with showers and toilet facilities, out door showers to get the sand off of your feet and a well maintained teak/Trex boardwalk and stairs down to a non-crowded beach. The emerald green water simply is amazing and is great for wading, body surfing, swimming, surf fishing or just building sand castles. Everyone is socially distanced and conscious of their neighbors. So there are no loud radios playing. There are usually park rangers around as a source of information on the area. We love to go there and enjoy time with our family on the beach.

Lovely beach and walking trail by the dunes
Feb 2021
I loved Grayton Beach State Park! It has a lovely stretch of beach with sand dunes and not condos & houses. There are also hiking trails that go through the dunes and by Western Lake. The 1-mile Nature Trail was lovely. I slightly muddy patch at the far end of the loop, but it wasn't too bad to get around.
