I really had mixed feelings about taking on this hike after reading several reviews. However we set off at 10am on a really pleasant day (not too hot) and started the ascent after parking in the free car park. You start on sandy gravel, then...More

Echo Trail was a great way to climb Camelback Mountain. It was 60 degrees and partly cloudy, so much more comfortable then when my co-worker did it on a 90 degree day. Good parking, restrooms, and water at the trailhead. Trail is very well marked....More

I was a bit hesitant to take my three visiting nephews ages 6, 8 & 10 up Camelback but we had a blast. Not an easy climb for the youngest but they loved every minute of it.

This is a steep climb with large steps over railroad ties and uneven rocks. Great views once you make the summit. Not a casual stroll. I saw many people turn around early in the climb. Bring water and strong thighs.

This was the first time we hiked and I thought we bit off more than we could chew but we took our time, paid attention to how the more experienced hikers did it, and are so glad we pushed ourselves and hiked the trail.

It has a great panoramic view, and to a person like me who lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, Echo Canyon Summit Trail reminds me of the Mission Peak in the Bay Area, but Echo Canyon Summit Trail is shorter yet steeper. It took...More

This was my first time hiking this trail and I was very impressed. There are some challenging areas and it's not for the faint of heart. The views are spectacular, the restrooms are clean, and the park staff/rangers are very friendly. Well maintained grounds if...More

My sons and I were visiting from NJ. Awesome views of the city, and Arizona vistas. Need to be relatively fit to make this hike.

People have done it. I didn't , but yes, you have to walk back to your car. Other people have used Uber to drop off then have pick up the other side. Hope this helps!
