Unlike Écho, Cholla is a nice walk up without any scrambling but once past the saddle to the summit it becomes more difficult similar to Echo with some scrambling Involved. Distance to the saddle is little over one mile. Cholla is a good alternative to...More

My husband and I and our three teenage kids (14-19) hiked the Cholla trail while in town college touring. I would call this hike more of a climb then a hike. Our family is all in good shape so it was fine but I would...More

Come from the UK for a couple of weeks every year and my daily hike is up Cholla. If I am not hill fit it takes me a couple of days to do the run straight to the summit but the views are fab and...More

In preparation for our annual work conference, I decided to sponsor a hike up Cholla Trail. Search You Tube for my video which gives great info for you. Title is "Camelback Hike - Cholla Trail." In the vid, I outline where to park (Invergordon), what...More

Our least favourite hike in Phoenix. Views amazing along the way. But the trail is easy to veer off as it is not very well marked in the more technical spots. We found the footing sketchy and dangerous in spots. Take your time.

We hiked up Camelback using the Cholla trail. It was my husband and I and four kids ranging from ages 16-10. One thing we did not know going into this, is that you cannot park at the trail head. We had to park on the...More

Nice hike even though we didn’t make it to the top. Challenging. Crowded but dual able. Parking is horrible!!! Please pay attention to where you park. We got a $72 parking ticket. The signs for no parking are not clearly marked.

This trail appealed to us because we heard it offered gorgeous views. Parking is non-existent; some hikers were ubering but we parked legally along Invergordon Rd and walked a mile to the trailhead. Be sure to wear hiking boots. A young man in front of...More

We are a 60 year old couple. We hiked North Mountain 3 - 4 times a week for about a year before we gave Camelback a try. Our first outing we made it to the saddle and realized we'd waited to late in the day,...More

Lordy! I don't know, but from the map it's only 1.3 miles. I hiked it a bunch a while ago. Of course you have to walk a bit (1/4 to 1/2 mile) from where you park. Posts aren't something I focus on either. Ride a bike to the... More
