We do this mountain at night, and it's amazing. The path is almost like a stepper, with clear borders. That said, go to the top daytime when the weather is good and it's an awesome view. If your conditioning is good you should make it...More

At the base of the climb, there's a sign noting "extremely difficult". Having not done this before, I'd say the signage was correct. For us, the climb up and down took about 2 1/2 hours, including the time spent at the top marveling in the...More

Glorious views, wonderful hike. Strenuous, but worth it. If you are visiting Phoenix or the Valley in general, I highly recommend it. The views are breathtaking. Take the circumference trail and avoid the crowds. Go early, parking can be an issue.

I have to admit, this is a go to place for me. If I need a short hike, it's here. If I need a long hike, it's here. If I want to see something new, i can find it here. If I want something I...More

Not as high or difficult as Camelback Mountain to hike, so it can be enjoyed by most ages and abilities. The peak does get crowded at times because it is so popular, and parking is usually full. The very top has jagged rocky edges so...More

Once you find parking, your on your way to a fun hike! No chance of getting lost, as the path is very clear. And the views from the top are worth the trip!

I had climbed this mountain many times before in my 20s. I am now in my 50s, but still very fit and active. I hike most weekends. I decided to try Piestawa (formerly Squaw peak), for old times sake, but found it incredibly difficult. Firstly,...More

Simply the best hike in Phoenix! Trail is challenging and the views are 360 of the city. Getting to the summit you have to scale up some rocks but once there it is worth it. You gotta be fit to do this hike! The surrounding...More

The park was crowded with hikers the morning we attempted the climb. This hike is not one that is eased into as it goes straight up immediately. This is a moderate hike and our young children called it quits after 15-20 minutes.

Hike is a little more than 1.2 miles up with a good vertical climb of 1100 feet. Trail is rocky with some good view points up. Overall I would say it’s a great place to go with less crowds than Camelback. Climb is easier and...More

Not sure if the rules have changed much in the past 20 years but it used to be strictly first-come-first served. You can bring your own chairs.

Desert Vista trail over by Dove Valley is an easy one. I would also recommend the Apache Wash trail.

Well... It's not a smooth inclining trail. Mostly stepping on rocks of uneven heights. Depending on your comfort level and fitness level but I would say no. 😄
