This is one of my favorite "walks" near Payson. I say walks because it is paved along Old Rim Road. It's beautiful and easy to get to and enjoy.

Beautiful part of Arizona. We had a great drive though unfortunately did not see any elk. Look-out points good.

We drove up from Payson and did a little walk around the trails. We weren't there long (didn't have time) but we would like to return!

We just went to to Christopher Creek for a couple hours. Absolutely beautiful there. So pretty and peaceful. Could use a little cleaning up from the trash people leave all over, but it’s mostly nice and pretty there by the creek.

How on earth (do you see what I did there?) do you review a 2,000-foot high escarpment (cliff, if you like) that is one edge of the Colorado Plateau? You need a book for something this special. There's so much to see and do here,...More

The rim has beautiful lookout spots all along the road. The rim lakes are also close by -- Woods Canyon and Willow Springs. Great trip if you have never seen it

Drove from Show Low to Hannigan Meadow via Springerville. Road is terrible and not scenic. Hannigan area still recovering from 2011 forest fire. Returned via Eager, Pinetop-Lakeside which I would recommend going both ways. Took side trip to Hawley Lake, beautiful 18 mile trip round...More

One of the prettiest drives you can find. However, it is one rough road for refined vehicles. It is open except during the snow season and extreme fire danger. Best viewed by taking a south side road when available.
