It is very beautiful here. We went to the lookout at the top and you could see for miles. The air is so clean clean.

Drove from Show Low to Hannigan Meadow via Springerville. Road is terrible and not scenic. Hannigan area still recovering from 2011 forest fire. Returned via Eager, Pinetop-Lakeside which I would recommend going both ways. Took side trip to Hawley Lake, beautiful 18 mile trip round...More

At the top of highway 260, on the edge of the Mogollon Rim, take rim road,(also Woods lake rd.) to the west, opposite side of the tourist center. You only have to drive 1.8 miles to get to a viewing area. The area has trails...More

This is one of the serene places you can visit. With so close interactions with wild elk. If you into camping, you have found your destination. The weather is also very good. We went in search of fall colors and this place does have some...More

Many of the areas were closed due to the drought and potential for wildfires. However, we hike parts of the rim that were open and drove through the areas that were open. We saw no wildlife whatsoever. But, the rim is beatiful and the views...More

This is 30 miles east of Payson. Lots of benches. Nice deck for the view. Public restrooms. Signage with names of all the peaks you can see. 10 minutes is enough.

The Mogollon Rim overview site is amazing. The whole rim area is amazing! I live in the White Mountains and this area has amazed me for over 35 years, always something new.

I take two weeks in July to go up there and it is so beautiful this is a must see for everyone. This area is located near the Woods Canyon Lake north of Payson Arizona

It's beautiful country! Full of deer and elk and bear and spotted with a multitude of small hardly accessible trout fishing lakes. Don't try to get to them in the wintertime!
