The Mogollon Rim overview site is amazing. The whole rim area is amazing! I live in the White Mountains and this area has amazed me for over 35 years, always something new.

I take two weeks in July to go up there and it is so beautiful this is a must see for everyone. This area is located near the Woods Canyon Lake north of Payson Arizona

It's beautiful country! Full of deer and elk and bear and spotted with a multitude of small hardly accessible trout fishing lakes. Don't try to get to them in the wintertime!

Fantastic views! We visited in April, and it was cool and VERY windy. Beautiful and impressive, and such a change from the nearby desert.

If possible, see the rim via forest road 300, the Rim Road. Yes, some spots are rough, but the view at the edge is to die for, especially on a clear day. There are several spots that if you know your mountain peaks, MOUNT LEMMON...More

Another poster stated the road opens May 1. Not correct. The road is open from snow melt to first snow. The 7 miles to Kehl Spring campground are usually open in the winter. Remember this is a forest service road. It is often one lane...More

What on this good earth is the Mogollon Rim? It is an enormous geologic phenomenon that cannot be fully described or discussed here. I suggest that one use Google and Wikipedia to learn much more about it. How do you pronounce this odd word Mogollon?...More

We wanted to drive the Mogollon Rim Road on our Spring Break trip. Important Tip - apparently, the rim Road is closed Nov. 1-May 1. We haven’t seen this mentioned elsewhere, and it seems to have surprised at least two other cars of folks. That...More

It is a beautiful drive. It does not require 4wd. A passenger car is fine after the road is maintained about 5-1. Suggest during the week to avoid ATVs and speeding 4wds. This road takes at least 4 hours to drive allowing... More
