This is a tricky one, as we bought our tour with Tangol, another company listed on trip advisor. Our tour included hotel pick up, snack, guide, entrance to the park, boat ride and the mini trekking. So to focus on Hielo y Aventura, they take...More

I gave this experience four stars instead of three because our guide Mattias was really excellent and the glaciers are beautiful. However, there were simply too many people on the tour to really enjoy this experience. We were picked up at our hotel at 7:30am...More

We took the all day tour with Heilos y Adventura. They picked us up at our hotel. On the bus were about 50 other trekkers from all over the world., Next we spent a few hours in the park overlooking the glacier. At 12:30 we...More

Well organised at start with boat, but glacier tour was really for people with no mountain experience or fitness at all. After boat back, those not on shuttle from El Califate were lost.

The "big trek" was an absolute highlight of an amazing trip. This company was well-organized, easy to work with, and really cared about our safety and our experience. We hemmed and hawed over the "mini trek" vs the "big trek" and even tried to "downgrade"...More

Was very impressed by the tour for big ice. Guides were great. Very safe and knowledgeable. Only one company doing it on Moreno . I can see why. They are truly experts in their work and watching out for those on the tour.

We were excited to do this but not looking forward to the mass market element which we try to avoid but couldn't in this situation. The journey to the national park seemed to go quickly where we got tickets (cash only) and headed to the...More

Although our original plans did not include the "safari nautico" to visit the Moreno Glacier, I am glad that we added it. The expense (barely some 60 USD for a party of 3, including a pre-teen) was worth it as it offers another spectacular angle...More

Hello, we are hoping to do the minitrekking excursion with Hielo y Aventura when in Patagonia. I have two questions that I would love if Hielo y Aventura or anyone who has been on minitrekking could answer! -Are plain tennis shoes (such as Nikes) acceptable for the minitrekking excursion? Will they work with the crampons? -We will be staying in El Calafate and are considering getting our own transportation (rather than using the Hielo y Aventura shuttle). If we choose to use our own transportation, what time would we meet up with our group? Will we miss out on any parts of the excursion? What time would we split off from the group (when they get back on the shuttle)/how long would the excursion take not including the shuttle? If anyone who has used their own transportation in the past could share their experience or if Hiela y Aventura could give some insight, that would be amazing; thank you in advance!

To answer your second question, if you want to use your own transport (rental car?) you could meet the group at the boat boarding spot, which is somewhat near to the ‘Balconies’, but it’s a drive, not a walking distance... More

Comfortable pants (flexible) like hiking pants. It is going to be cold on the ice but not like when you go skiing. More important than the pants are the shoes, hiking shoes or boots. Light sneakers are not ideal because you... More

I had the fly at 20:30 too. Excursions finished around 4 and I was in El Calafate around 6. It's a small airport, you will be fine.
