This is a historic local museum, formerly a house owned by a traditional family in Rosario, which shows memorabilia in an authentic setting --rooms furnished and decorated in their original styles, with interesting paintings and cutlery. Worth paying a visit, good central location, downtown.

This museum is a real treasure and is situated in Plaza 25 de Mayo, just near the consulate of Spain. This place used to be a home of a rich person, who arrived to Rosario in 1920s and bought that mansion. He made his fortune in commerce and desperately wanted to be accepted in the high society of Rosario. So he brought many statues and paintings from Europe, exhibited lots of silverware brought from Peru, Bolivia etc and made a sort of museum from his own house. At first only selected people could see the treasures, then they even opened sort of a coffee shop at the backyard...Well, the heirs of this family donated the mansion to the city and now everyone can enjoy the treasures of the house: paintings of famous artist without double glass just hanging on the wall, the room decorated with furniture which seems to be at least a hundred years old but still beautiful and elegant, nice curtains, carpets, silverware, porcelain...Everything looks so real, elegant, but domestic, it looks just like that the owner of the hose just left and his beautiful wife is about to enter and offer you some tea. Real treasures like paintings, etc are the part of the house, you look at them and imagine the life of those people, which I think is really exciting. The best part is that you don't have that “museum impression” and just enjoy looking at all those treasures. The staff is very friendly and English-speaking. Bad thing is that it is not allowed to take pics because of the obvious reasons and they don't have any books or cards with pics of the place.
