I'm originally from Formosa and I liked all the pages related to Tourism about Formosa in Facebook, that's how I found out about the possibility of doing a Paseo in Lancha (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Formosa-desde-el-Agua/441637209179753?fref=ts) A Boat tour".
Formosa is a small town and I would say it has grown incredibly in the last decades, I know Juan Demarchi who leads Formosa Receptiva and I can talk about what kind of work he does.

I took a boat tour with three friends and after living abroad for more than 13 years, I can say that Juan is doing an excellent job, he's not only a professional and responsible "captain" but also, he is very knowledgeable about Formosa history and nature, so your tour will be delightful! Plus, he really takes good care of you while on board. He's very hands on, and will make sure to accommodate schedules, schedule trips last minute, and being flexible. As an extra bonus, in our tour, he had beers (we took some with us too) and "chipa" the authentic cheese delicacies from the area. What else can you ask for?

In Formosa, this is by far the best option if you have guests in town, or international friends visiting.

Finally, the river experience is so magnificent! You will be super connected to nature and very relaxed after it! Next time I'm in town, I will try La Carmela, the campo experience.

Enjoy!

My daughter (5) loves animals and nature. A friend recommended Formosa Receptiva for their tours. Despite my last minute call they were able to accomodate our request. Well organised, not too formal, unrushed, helpful and informative, we went to Herradura (around 40km away). We went to explore the lagoon & surroundings. We saw monkeys, birds, etc. Nature at its best. Juan was specially great with my daughter (& his English was good as he lived in NZ). We finished the excursion at their Campo where we saw some more animals and had a great tea with homemade bread and chipa. We had a lot of fun. A great option for those visiting the city.
