We lived in Punta Mogotes for years. We went to the beach almost every day regardless of the season. Summers were great, crowded but not over crowded, and the rest of the year it was perfect for afternoon or evening walks.

Punta Mogotes is not that far from the city of Mar del Plata... It's amazing the contrast to the city. You can see a lot of tress, like in small forest, the lighthouse is old and mysterious.... Loved it there

When you have a view as the one they offer, the food is not important! Even though the place is not cheap at all, and the food is just OK, the place is beautiful. I'd recommend to have a picada and enjoy the sight

It's less crowded and the sea seems to be cleaner. However I found the whole Mar del Plata experience disappointed, a bit downmarket.
