About
We will get together at the corner of Carlos Calvo and Peru street (Bar El Federal) and go for a walk around to see how the fileteado style covers life in the city, giving Buenos Aires a completely unique style from the rest of the world. Later we will have a ´fileteado ´class with fileteador artist. He will help us to make our own works of art that you can take away with you as a memory, while we emerge ourselves in the history and secrets of this style of art.

This was a wonderful experience!!! Actually, I attended two tours/workshops - the first was only the class at the Association of Fileteadores, the second included the tour around San Telmo and then a class again at the studio of the Association.

For the first class, I was the only person who was there with the BA Tours, but there were two other people learning fileteado and working at a more advanced level. My instructor, José, was fabulous!!! He sketched out a design for me on a wood panel, had me practice using the special brush (which has very long bristles, so it takes a while to get the hang of it), and then showed me how to paint each section. José was very patient, and didn't mind that I took much longer than the class was scheduled for - he could see that I was really into the painting. If you like any kind of art, definitely sign up for this workshop!!!

For the tour and class, we met our guide was Georgina and had a traditional breakfast at the oldest bar in Buenos Aires. We headed out while Georgina told us about the history of the art of fileteado as we walked around the neighborhood of San Telmo, looking at examples of the art. We also visited the church of San Telmo, which holds several gorgeous examples. Georgina was very patient with those of us who ask questions and take tons of photos! We then went to the studio for the Association of Fileteadores, and Cristian was our instructor. He also drew a design, explained some of the composition points of fileteado, and patiently helped as paint each portion of the design, so that we all created a beautiful souvenir to remember our time.

Definitely a wonderful workshop!!!

I had booked this class online, and despite the time I booked being cancelled for unforeseen circumstance for the teacher, the class organiser went above and beyond to make sure I was able to take the class before I left Buenos Aires.

I speak very little Spanish but can understand more thank I speak -and Michael (the artist) speaks only a little English but even dispute this I had an amazing 3 hours! I learnt a lot and had a lot of fun - I’m inspired to do some Porteño style fileteado on my guitar when I get home! Was a wonderful way to finish my trip :)

Hi! We are glad to know that you have had a great time with Miguel and that you have finished your trip in Argentina excellently. He doesn´t speak English very well, but he certainly knows how to teach the fileteado porteño (by the way, we also have english speakers teachers). Please, when you finished painting your guitar send us a pic! Cheers!

Really fun way to spend 90 minutes—we got to learn the history behind fileteado and experience the techniques behind the traditional technique. The instructor was very friendly and a good teacher. I booked this class with my Argentinian mother-in-law. She speaks fluent Spanish and I speak basically no Spanish so she had to translate for me most things. I left the class with a better understanding of fileteado and a desire to practice more.

My second time experiencing the tour!!!
Absolutely perfect. I want to mention, first of all, that they keep the quality, at the highest level. Everything was perfect, the guide, the fileteado art teacher, the staff; they all did an excellent job. They were very professional and fun.
The wonderful experience to paint your own piece, and also the part of the tour feeling the art and history of the fileteado porteño through words of the guide. A
Also, the visit of the Carlos Gardel Museum, he was one of the greatest Tango singer.
Fileteado is an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by the UNESCO.
Fileteado and Tango are very popular arts in Buenos Aires. This tour shows you this art that represents the identity of Argentina.
Of course, I absolutely recommend this tour, it´s wonderful.

I had the best time on this tour! The guide was really knowledgeable and I loved seeing the art. I think the best part was learning the Fileteado "Style" with a Fileteador artist:). Overall a great experience

The tour was very nice, we got to know about the history of Tango, the city of Buenos Aires and the Fileteado which is such a beautiful art. The workshop with Gustavo Ferrari was very nice too, even though we were not great artists... hahaha whenever he is in Brazil again I'll definitely look it up. I totally recommend taking this tour!

This tour was really a nice way to learn more about tango and fileteado. The workshop was excellent and the location was really Buenos Aires. Not a really long way to walk, food and drinks included.
