Great for a photo op outside with the pampoens (pumpkins). Also wonderful selection of brikka brak, delicacies and things to waste holiday money. Well worth the stop.

The lady on the till was the first person I have across in twenty years that didn't speak a word of English. Was good fun trying out my Afrikaans again.

They appear to have some faulty electrical circuit as the power was going off all the time. Also the credit card payment didn't work. The owner should get this sorted and get someone good on the front desk to sell and help customers. They would see profits increase tenfold.

Not worthy of the name “padstal”. Tasteless jaffles. Koeksusters that tastes like soaked bread and you need to pay to use the toilet. Poor.

Stopped there with a school group which spend quite a lot of money there. Owner very unfriendly when asked if we could organise a deal that we would always stop there on our way to camps with the kids if the driver and teacher could get a free coffee (like Môreson Padstal and quite a few others around Worcester, De Doorns and Montagu does) but she just replied "Spur don't give free coffee if you take your kids there". Well, my school is now always passing Die Pampoen Padstalletjie and so is a small income. Other friendly (willing to make a tiny deal) farmstalls now sees us often.

Her staff was friendly though and helped my kids with a smile. Thank you Not-the-owner-lady.

We stopped at this recommended farm stall on our way back to Cape Town from Plett. I found the shop to be a treasure trove of exciting delicacies and preserves. Unfortunately my disappointment was being told that I had pay to use the toilet. I understand there may be a need to charge for this service but to expect customers who have paid for product from the shop to have to pay to use the facilities is really bad customer service and potentially damaging to the business success.

I will never stop here again whilst this practice is in play.

Beautifully displayed pumpkins of all shapes and sizes, with the stunning mountains as a backdrop. Inside the shop is stocked with delicious food products and beautiful craft items.

There are so few jobs in S A you’d think that those that had one would be polite and interested.

We stopped by and the lady at the till couldn’t be bothered to make any eye contact or answer a question about the produce as she was too busy gossiping with the lady in the kitchen. We looked round the stuff for sale and went back to the till and still the lady couldn’t be bothered to serve us as she was so busy chatting.

We left without buying anything .

We stop here every time en route from Cape Town to our holiday house at the coast, so we visit on average about once a month. We have never been disappointed. The range of products changes all the time, but is always original and classy - from high-quality enamelware to hand-woven baskets to the very best pumpkin rusks ever (with roasted pumpkin seeds and cinnamon - yum). Not to mention the astonishing two-tone pumpkins piled high outside which are also for sale. The fresh produce is seasonal and local, and is export quality. Better taste and price than you will find in any supermarket. Watch out especially for the big boxes of sweet black figs, the trays of huge, firm cling peaches and the peeled prickly pears cold from the fridge.

The Pampoen Stalletjie is well worth a visit, even if just for a photo opportunity among the pumpkins. Go inside the cool interior and let your eyes feast on the variety of things for sale, from jam's to koeksisters, from bags to table mats and much more. Try as you might you won't be able to go away empty handed. Fresh vegetables on the stoep and a sweet snack on the counter, and to top it all very friendly and friendly and helpful staff.

Romantic, traditional style general dealer selling pumpkins, of course, but a variety of fresh fruit and veggies, home made jams and preserves, sundry hand made items ranging from aprons to gift items of all sorts. Really worth spending some time here.
