Astonishingly pathetic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
May 2021 • Couples
Unfortunately we didn't read the reviews beforehand,Big mistake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In these times you would think that they would fall over their feet to service clients, big mistake!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Service, what service 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️charcuterie board for two, disgrace!!!really, how could you serve that????
The moment 8 people walked in,we were treated like dirt, pathetic really!!!!
We are still waiting to taste any wines. No coffee,no water,no coldrink.
The manager tried her best to help, but it was to little to late.

Will we be back,never!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You give the Stellenbosch wine route a terrible bad advert.

We've never been treated like this.

What a disappointment. We like their wines, but the way the restaurant and tasting is managed is a disaster. The whole premises seem unkept, old and dirty. They didn't even manage to clean up the tables or sweep under the tables. Service invisible, had to walk in for each order. Extremely limited choice of food - just a cheese platter or a charcutery platter, both at R175. We ordered the cheese platter and when it arrived, it turned out to be a complete joke. Simonsig deserves the medal for the most ridiculous cheese platter we've come across on any wine estate. The chef (if there's a chef) should be ashamed to send this out. And the manager should visit some other wine estates to see what a proper cheese platter should look like. When we left, again, service had disappeared so we had to walk to the counter to pay. Nobody cared about our experience or showed any interest in us at all. - What we found even more surprising as we see other places go the extra mile to survive in these difficult times without international tourists.

Great wine tasting
Oct 2020
Great wine, great service and the lady who served us was excellent and know her wines. This is a must stop, and enjoy the garden and surroundings, while you taste one of the best wines in Stellenbosch.

A lovely afternoon out
Mar 2020
This was one of our favourites, or was it just that it was the third vineyard that day! If you like bubbles, the the Rose pairing is a must. The red wines are of a very high quality and if red is your thing, go for the Blue Bloods. The estate was stunning, the staff wonderful and knowledgeable. Definitely one for the list.

Wine tasting
Feb 2020 • Friends
Absolutely fantastic day wine tasting. If ure a big fan of sparkling this is the vineyard to go to.
We sat in a fabulous court yard and had tapas and a cheese board and tasted all the sparkling wines as well as some whites and reds . They were all 10 out of 10 which made it very hard to chose what to buy to take bk to England . Thank u for a great day !!🍾🥂🍾🥂🍾🥂🍾🥂

Great wine tasting, bad oysters
Feb 2020 • Friends
Wonderful wines and great tasting. Sadly the downside was that we ordered oysters which we could smell before they were served to our table. They did acknowledge their mistake after telling us they were fine but it was too late as some had been consumed. Luckily no one got sick and a complimentary bottle of Brut was given to make up for it. The wine is great here and I’m sure on a normal day the oysters are top notch.

Wonderful views, amaizing wines, professional staff, dog friendly.

Relaxe in a peaceful ambience, enjoy the wine tasting which will take you on a trip discovering award winning wines. You must try the Gewürztraminer! The cheese plate is a bid pricy but just drink more of their sparkling wine and you will forget that you were over charged for that. This place is also dog friendly.

First wine tasting of the holiday
Jan 2020
We popped in here for wine tasting and if I'm absolutely honest, the service wasn't great. The waitress we had wasn't that interested in explaining the wines and, although we enjoyed the wines we weren't interested in purchasing any bottles to take away with us. Wouldn't go there again as there are so many beautiful wineries in the area

Where did our lunch go?
Dec 2019 • Family
We were part of a small wine tour and Simonsig was the chosen spot for lunch. We now live outside South Africa & were proud to show our US guests, South African hospitality.
We arrived, seated quickly and then hailed over a few wait staff in the hopes of getting a menu to order lunch and a glass of their wine. After many attempts we were waited on, only to be told 1/2 of the menu selections were no longer available. We made our choices, ordered some wine. The wine arrived after 30 min, by now we had been there close to 50 min! 90 min later still no food, despite numerous requests & being told “it’s nearly ready” a number of times. Finally at the 2 hr mark, the rest of our party (who were at an inside table & were wined & dined) were ready to move onto our last vineyard & we left without having ever seen a morsel of food.
