Tasting area is cold. The wines are overpriced and the reds all full of tannin. The young waiter was very bored, arrogant and boastful about the relatively young estate. We had a plain meal ( one of three offered with the tasting) then was refused tea although my colleagues had coffee.
I said no problem as I had a tea bag on me then they refused to bring me hot water saying if I used a tea bag i would be asked to leave! Have never met such rubbish attitude in my life.
Given spurious excuse that it was not a restaurant. Sums up their extreme pretentiousness. Will never go back. there are many much better wineries in the Cape and it was an embarrassment to be talked down to.

An absolute ‘must visit’ if you are in the area!!!!!!

As a wine estate known for the high quality of its production, it would be easy to visit the estate just for the wines. The simple fact is that the quality of the wines is completely complemented by the magnificence of the estate itself. The impressive drive up to the beautiful buildings; the warmth of the greeting from very knowledgeable, personable staff and the sheer elegance of the layout is enhanced by the delightful view out across the terroir as you sit down to a delightful lunch.

In my case a Chalmar Pepper-crusted Fillet served with fries, salad and a glass of ReV Estate Vineyards Syrah for R300.

Follow this with the Single Vineyard Tasting option at R200 and you have a completely enjoyable lunch experience sitting out on the quaint terrace.

Our waitress, Jeandré, added charm, insight and enjoyment to a fabulous lunch with very dear friends - just excellent!!

To be repeated – hopefully ;-)

Exquisite wine, lovely setting and excellent service, despite the fact that it was an extremely busy lunchtime last Saturday.
I would certainly return as this was an impromptu stop off on our final day before flying home.
Unfortunately I didn't have time even for lunch which looked amazing!
Next time....as I will be returning!

Fabulous red wines, some of the best in SA (dont come here if you favor whites). Tasting was cheerfully and efficiently delivered in the main lunch area outdoors, but there is also a seperate indoor tasting area. Amazing centuries old winery with great views. I you also want lunch, they specialize in sirloin and chips.

Beautiful setting, excellent service, exquisite wine. Meal was good. Ordered the Sirloin, a bit overcooked and not the best I've had. The fillet looked like the better option. Salmon was perfect.

Specialist in Red wines and red meats. This is the reason to visit, if this is not your thing then probably give R&V a miss. The service is polite and swift even on a busy day. Tastings and lunch tables are interspersed which creates great ambience. You cannot fault the winemaker nor chef on the grill. A great lunch with memorable wines.
