Moedergemeente Stellenbosch (Church) – One of the oldest churches in the country, this magnificent and well-maintained church has been left unchanged for more than 2 centuries. It features amazing stained glass, pulpit and organ that to this day plays beautiful worship music. The wooden pews and floorboards are original and the scent of cedarwood can still be appreciated to this day. A must visit.

Driving through Stellenbosch was lovely. The Church caught my attention as it had a clock and it is well-preserved.
In this community are streets of architecture with European influences especially the Dutch can be seen on the details of windows, doors, wrought irons are photographic ones. There are many shops around such as coffee shops, grocery; for jewelry, novelty items, etc.
Community is quiet while locals are busy doing their everything thing- working, meeting, doing grocery.
We spent about 1 hour in 30 minutes in this area.

Sited at the head of Church St and having literal as well as symbolic implications, is this charming Dutch Reformed Church.
Its gracious lines can be best appreciated, when walking up the oak-lined Church St. The church and its related buildings is set in well-manicured gardens and with spring here now, the roses and hydrangeas are budding and full of promise for a glorious new season. Don't miss it!

A lovely church, friendly staff. Free of charge to visit, however, of course donations are relevant. There is a "museum" exhibition that is great and big, all things considered. It is at the end of Church Street and close to the lovely University Botanical Gardens, a wonderful walk and way to enjoy af few hours. Children welcome.

We were strolling a little bit in Stellenbosch when we faced this nice church. It was a pity that was closed, but in the outskirts of the place was very nice.

Our friends were recently married in "The Mother Church". It is a beautiful historical building to look at from the street, and lovely inside as well.
The gardens are currently in a slightly sad state with the ongoing drought, but still struggling on.
If you can manage to see inside it is well worth a look. I believe normal services are in Afrikaans.
