Hidden Valley Wines offers spectacular wines, breathtaking views, olives and olive oil, an award-winning restaurant, weddings, cheese platters, nature trails and picnics. Join us 7 days a week. Hidden Valley is the culmination of years of determined patience. Dave Hidden, a winemaker by training, but entrepreneur by nature, has realized his dream. This secluded farm nestled against the Stellenbosch Mountains, now boasts a magnificent new cellar amongst its pristine vineyards. The parcel of land was pointed out to Dave in the late seventies by Dave’s Viticulture Professor; he remarked that this was amongst the best vineyard land in South Africa. Dave took heed of this and acquired the property in 1998. After careful consideration and in keeping with a holistic approach to the environment, the farm was developed to its current glory. Although the winery is a state of the art, gravity fed cellar, it is nestled into side the slope and intended to blend back into the environment in time. The building materials, namely stone, wood and glass are purposely selected to present a contemporary yet functional structure. The cellar is surrounded by vineyards, olive groves, almond orchards and natural vegetation, each occupying an integral part of the farms’ ecosystem. Sustainable agriculture is a common theme in every approach both in and outside the cellar.

This was our first visit to Hidden Valley Estate. The view from the deck is breathtaking. The wine tasting combined with a mixed cheese and meat platter was a perfect combination. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and it made our wine tasting experience exceptional.

What a stunning setting. We sat outside and did a chocolate and wine pairing. Chocolates well matched and wines really good. Loved the unusual shape of the wine bottles. The lady who presented our wines was run off her feet, as they were busy, but...More

Wow what a stunning venue! Such a lovely lunch. Rustic and with only 2 things on the menu but the food was well prepared and the view absolutely amazing. Well worth a visit especially on a lovely summers afternoon.

Despite the fabulous location and the potential for a great time, if we had stayed longer to enjoy the deck and something more to drink and eat, we were disappointed with our wine tasting experience. There was a Saturday afternoon crowd of people, and it...More

We were recommended by our Johannesburg friends to visit this farm. We took our American friends here and what a hidden gem! The views are postcard pretty. The tasting room has amazing wooden tables and the wine is fantastic.
