About
Hidden Valley Wines offers spectacular wines, breathtaking views, olives & olive oil, an award-winning restaurant, charcuterie & cheese platters, picnics, a nature trail and art. This secluded farm perched on the slopes of the Helderberg Mountains in Stellenbosch, boasts a magnificent cellar among its pristine vineyards. Although the winery is a state-of-the-art, gravity fed cellar, it is nestled into the side of the slope and intended to blend back into the environment in time. The building materials, namely stone, wood and glass are purposely selected to present a contemporary yet functional structure. The cellar is surrounded by vineyards, olive groves, almond orchards and natural vegetation, each occupying an integral part of the farm’s ecosystem. Sustainable agriculture is a common theme in every approach both in and outside the cellar. The Wine Tasting Centre is open 7 days a week - we invite you to join us.

Gorgeous Venue and Wine Tasting

We enjoyed a fabulous wine tasting with friends. Great and friendly service, patient explanations and an awesome view. Priced really well. We can all highly recommend this experience.

"Emperor's new cloth's" Feeling ripped off!
Dec 2020
Gorgeous setting on the deck. No menu to speak of . Expensive Pizza, expensive wine and expensive Burger. We were blessed with the trio. The pizza was soggy, thick and cake like, replaced after expressing dissatisfaction by a soggy cake like, thick heavy (refunded) pizza. Burger was just average, plastic cutlery and nasty nonproprietary sauces. People complaining around us. Embarrassed, efficient and apologetic waitress that had "heard it all before". Manager "too busy" to get involved!

Fabulous Wine & picnic on the lawn
Mar 2020 • Friends
Stunning scenery down the valley, coupled with exquisite wines and quality picnic on the lawn. Picnic was full of fresh, tasty goodies, washed down with a bottle we’d verified in our tasting experience beforehand.
This place is 15 mins out of Sbosch but well worth the visit.
The tasting was delivered by a very pleasant & knowledgeable young lady who was a credit to Hidden Valley.
Overall the tasting and picnic was a fantastic experience to while away an afternoon. Don’t rush your visit here; savour it !

Valentine Picnic
Feb 2020
Collect your Picnic Basket from the Wine Tasting Centre....

The Basket is full of tasty surprises, and we could hardly finish everything, and a wonderful bottle of Hidden Valley MCC Brut Rosé - a definite if you are looking for value for money.
Apart from the wonderful basket, beautiful setting, Table Mountain in the distance, the pink sunset reflecting on the Stellenbosch mountains - natures music was the hit of the evening … the songs of the birds, frogs and little animals getting ready for the night …. this is definitely a "hidden gem" to celebrate love!!
We have been previous years, and will be back agian.
Thank you for the peacefull, no interruptions, classy and wonderful evening.
A must for the young and more mature (50+ years).
Booking in advance for the Valentine's Picnic is necessary.

Amazing

A great choice of wines in a beautiful area surrounded by gorgeous views. It’s a bit far out, but definitely worth the drive. I would definitely recommend the cheese platter. A big thank you to Jack for her amazing service!

Lovely wines, great view
Feb 2020
What a lovely estate situated between the vineyards and the olive trees. Despite being busy we were seated immediately, and the person helping us was extremely friendly and witty. The wines were delicious and very fairly priced. We will definitely visit again and always support you.

Recent visit......
Jan 2020
Three of us visited Hidden Valley, again, on Friday 3rd January 2020 for the Summer Sundowners. The view is without question stunning sadly this visit was really let down by the waitress and her lack of knowledge about the wines and the tapas dishes served. None of us could recognise a dish which we thought was fish and enquired, the young lady shrugged and replied that she didn’t know either but would find out, we also enquired what a thinly sliced vegetable was on another dish at the same time...agin the waitress didn’t know......approx 40mins she returned to advise us that indeed it was a fish dish......and also told us what the vegetable was.....we ordered the 3 glasses of MCC that was advertised as coming came with the Sunset Sundowner , 2 arrived and a glass of rose wine. We didn’t have the heart to tell her....she appeared so flustered and nervous poor girl. These comments are directed to the HV management team, if you advertise something you really need to brief all the serving staff on what is being served on that particular evening....we are/ were fairly frequent visitors to HV and yes, I’ll go back again but that particular evening did appear rather chaotic all around.
We put it down to the exhaustion after the Christmas, New Year rush.....but customer service is customer service all year around.

Handled The Pressure
Nov 2019
The day we visited they were extremely busy as it was a beautiful summers day in the valley. With 2 restaurants and the wine tasting area they can cater for quite a large amount of customers and I can honestly say they handled the pressure very well. We were a group of 6 people and managed to find a seat in the packed tasting center. Some of us did the standard wine pairing and others did the chocolate and wine pairing. Both tastings include the same wines, but if you have a love for chocolate I would recommend you do the pairing as the chocolates were delicious and masterfully paired. Each of their wines has a very unique bottle design and I especially enjoyed their white varietals. The farm is also beautiful and makes for great photo opportunities. It was my first time visiting the farm and they lived up to the hype.

Breathtaking views

Wow red wine and cheese platter. We simply walked in. Amazing view. Service was OK. By the lake one can get food and eat there for a really low price. Wow.
