Description:

Hidden Valley Wines offers spectacular wines, breathtaking views, olives...

Hidden Valley Wines offers spectacular wines, breathtaking views, olives and olive oil, an award-winning restaurant, weddings, cheese platters, nature trails and picnics. Join us 7 days a week. Hidden Valley is the culmination of years of determined patience. Dave Hidden, a winemaker by training, but entrepreneur by nature, has realized his dream. This secluded farm nestled against the Stellenbosch Mountains, now boasts a magnificent new cellar amongst its pristine vineyards. The parcel of land was pointed out to Dave in the late seventies by Dave’s Viticulture Professor; he remarked that this was amongst the best vineyard land in South Africa. Dave took heed of this and acquired the property in 1998. After careful consideration and in keeping with a holistic approach to the environment, the farm was developed to its current glory. Although the winery is a state of the art, gravity fed cellar, it is nestled into side the slope and intended to blend back into the environment in time. The building materials, namely stone, wood and glass are purposely selected to present a contemporary yet functional structure. The cellar is surrounded by vineyards, olive groves, almond orchards and natural vegetation, each occupying an integral part of the farms’ ecosystem. Sustainable agriculture is a common theme in every approach both in and outside the cellar.

Absolutely picturesque setting with beautiful views. We had the wine and chocolate pairing and whilst the wines were fair, the chocolates were generous and delicious! There's also a short nature trail worth doing for the views.

We had a wine tasting and picnic at Hidden Valley...I'm a big fan of their Sauvignon Blanc but to be honest was not the biggest fan of their red wines. Their bubbly was nice too. We ordered 5 picnic baskets...It had a nice selection of meats and cheeses but was a but disappointed that not all the baskets contained all... More

We spent a wonderful couple of hours here enjoying the five wines with specific paired chocolates. They setting was stunning and we enjoyed a delicious charcuterie platter as well. Highly recommended.

Not the best wines i have tried, but situated in a very nice area with friendly/good knowledge staff that made the visit spectacular. We had kids with us, but i would recommend to go there adults only. Wines available to buy on site

We had a wine tasting with 3 people, on with chocolate and two without. We just set next to the third person, but all three of us agreed that none of the wines we liked where special in any way. The all smelled very good, but lacked in taste. The restaurant is supposed to be one of the top ten... More
