We stayed in Zebra cottage.
What makes Remhoogte unique is the antelope and Zebra roaming around the accomodation and tasting area.
The cottage was fine. Everything seened clean. The main bedroom carpet is in desperate need of a deep clean, though.
Beware that there is a type of ladder leading to the upstairs bedroom, not stairs. This can be especially dangerous for the elderly and young children.
There is not a « no disturb » matress in the main bedroom, which influences one’s sleep quality. Pillows need replacing.
It would have been nice to have real coffee grounds and mot instant coffee.
Also, maybe put out some salt/pepper/bit of olive oil for guests.
Stoep cannot be used at all when windy or cold.
The wine tasting was unfortunately done without any passion for her product. It seemed like the assistant just learned and said the words.

I stumbled upon this enchanting wine estate, enjoyed a delicious Riesling with an equally yummy flatbread. The views are delightful and the air is clean! I got a friendly welcome as well!
There were a few friendly dogs roaming around minding their own business - cute!

A memorable wine tasting with a spectacular view of the Stellenbosch mountainside (and a zebra!). Our host was very knowledgeable about the wines and provided a truly pleasurable experience. The wines were superb – we brought bottles back to enjoy in Germany. Hoping we can find their wine somewhere in Europe to buy again.

Attentive service with a full array of well done wines. The view is outstanding from the terrace. Not just of the mountains and valleys, but there is a reserve with Zebra and Springbok next door too!

We were celebrating or 34 wedding anniversary and my husband booked the luxury room without consulting me. The room was wonderful, but it was the private verandah that delighted.Out of the wind and shaded, we sat there till late and watched the zebra, springbok and other antelope we didn't recognise, graze. At some stage a zebra took a sand bath and then frolicked and bounced around with guinea fowl scattering in all directions. In the late afternoon, antelope that we did not recognise, emerged from the riverine. Google informed us that these were Nyala - a male and two females, We were intrigued.
We did two sound walks around the farm enjoying the views and bird life, accompanied by four dogs delighted to show us their farm.
The wine is excellent and we supplemented our cellar.
Altogether a delightful experience. We will back and next time in one of the cottages and for at least three nights.

This was the first stop on a little vineyard tour with the lovely Alto, and what a great way to start! A beautiful estate, with fantastic views to take in while you sample the delicious wine that Remhoogte has to offer. The ladies presenting really know their stuff, and are great fun. We enjoyed it so much we took a couple of bottles away with us! A must not miss, thanks for a great experience!

What a lovely wine estate in all respects. It's wonderfully rustic, not pretentious at all, but that doesn't mean it's not practical and professional. The views over the Stellenbosch mountains are stunning and they even have zebras, springbok and wildebeest to view on the farm. What really made this a 5 star experience were the staff. The two ladies who ran the wine tasting room were pleasant, well educated in the wines and incredibly engaging with guests. They also cook the flatbreads which are served with the wine tasting. The wines are superb, with my favourites being the Honeybush Chenin Blanc, the Cabernet Sauvignon and the mighty Syrah (Shiraz). We will definitely be back and with the wine we bought, be thinking of this experience with every sip of their wines.

Went to Stellenbosch for a wine tasting weekend. Remhoogte was not on the initial itinerary and oh boy was I glad the tour guide recommended it!
Elsabe Wanza, a super kind soul with a great sense of humour, amazing knowledge of their product and lust for life hosted the tasting for us.
We walked out there with a case of delicious wine and happy memories!
Thanks so much Elsabe! You really are a CHAMP!

In need of an escape . . . ?

This quiet little wine estate with its protected valley, Zebra, Wildebeest and Springbok is ideal. The Zebra Lodge is quaint and well appointed - with great scenery and a fire place to take away the evening chill on a rainy weekend

We stayed at the Sebra Lodge for a few days. Very comfortable and spacious. Conveniently located just outside Stellenbosch. The tranquility of sitting on your stoep whilst looking at the animals and mountains is priceless.
We visited the winetasting room a few times during our stay. The ladies presenting know their stuff and are super friendly. The wine is worth a taste for sure. And the flatbreads make the visit all the more fabulous.
