A beautiful, interesting and well kept Animal Awareness centre. Some of the animals have been hand-reared and cannot be released. Making the public and young people aware of animals, and their needs and protection is vital. The animals here, while enclosed, have enough space to be themselves even though they cannot roam wild.

Bad after taste
Apr 2021 • Couples
Is the Giraffe House a sanctuary for animals? or are they just kept there purely for our entertainment.

Place is generally neat, however, it looks depressing to be an animal in that enclosure. Doesn't seems like the animals have any free reign. Makes you almost glad you're not an animal.

Sad and Depressing
Apr 2021
The Giraffe House is a Zoo. Although the place is neat and well-kept, the wide variety of animals are kept in small cages. The giraffe are housed in an enclosure without a single tree for them to browse on. The giraffe house leaves you feeling sad and depressed for these poor animals. My children asked us to leave just after arriving. It is definitely not an animal 'sanctuary' or 'awareness centre'.

Exquisite experience and animals!
Mar 2021 • Family
We went to Giraffe House (now Giraffic Park) for our son's birthday and what an experience! We booked a party venue and Alana (the owner) specially organized a private show for us with some of the reptiles. The kids were in awe! We were greeted with a dedicated staff member and Alana also came to greet us. The food was fantastic and all the animals were exquisite to watch. Thank you Alana for giving a memorable experience.

Nice Day for kids!!!
Mar 2021
A nice place for children. They have options to make a picnic or eating something they sell on the site, unfortunately you cannot get too close to the giraffes due to the current situation but hopefully everything will improve soon and we will return with pleasure. We had a very nice day, in summer go prepared with water and a hat, they will be very useful.

Learn about animals
Nov 2020
We went there to feed the giraffes, but due to covid it was unfortunately not allowed, but we could at least watch them. Pity because we drove out to Paarl all the way. There are though a lot of other animals to see and to learn about. I loved all the owls, they are adorable. Lots of snakes and some useful information was posted at each animal/reptile.

Giraffe lovers paradise

I am a regular visitor at The Giraffe house and each time they impress me even more. They are constantly improving and upgrading the facility, making sure that all wildlife at the Giraffe house is well taken care of.
The staff is made up of a group of passionate wildlife educators who make sure that every animal is provided with a safe space, and visitors are well educated on each of the species.

Opportunity to see (and perhaps even touch) giraffes
Jul 2020
The Giraffe House Wildlife Awareness Centre is a hidden gem! As the name suggests, you have the opportunity to see (and maybe even touch) giraffes, but the establishment is rich with many other interesting animals. Young and old will enjoy a visit to the Giraffe House. I visited the park with my friend and it was so relaxing walking around in our own time looking at all the beautiful animals. We were also pleasantly surprised at the affordable entrance fee!

Left feeling so sad for all the animals
Mar 2020 • Friends
I was really excited to visit the giraffes with friends at a „wildlife awareness center“. I expected it to be educational and for all the animals to be treated humanely. I was very disappointed to see all of the giraffes very sad and board in the small, open sunny area. 2 were even trying to eat the metal fence! Even a few trees would’ve made them a bit happier.
All of the grazing animals were in small open pens as well with no grass to eat. In fact, all the animals there were in containers that are too small and there are too many animals. In one tortoise exhibit, there were 12!
I came on feeling excited and left feeling terrible for being a parting the exploitation of these beautiful animals.

Worth a visit!
Feb 2020
The Giraffe house, situated in Stellenbosch, is great for a family outing. They have daily amphibian talks, which are interactive and allow the kiddies to meet and touch (under supervision) certain creatures like snakes, spiders and lizards. We made the trip as we were particularly excited to meet their Giraffes! After seeing all the photographs other visitors had managed to obtain, it looked like you would be able to interact with and feed the giraffes. However on the day, the giraffes were extremely anti-social and we were unable to offer them the feed we were given, as there are two fences between the viewing point and the giraffes themselves. Even with an extended arm we were unable to "offer them food".. It was still a great experience to view them from a far and to see all the other animals they have. Worth a visit!
