I love the fact that you can do a chocolate tasting before deciding what you would like to buy, as they have quite a big selection to choose from. The dark chocolate was definitely our favorite and comes highlyrecommended.

One must visit De Villiers when visiting the Spice Route. Tasting arrangements changed to be covid compliant. Wide selection of chocolates to taste, and of course purchase. Relaxing seated out on the balcony tasting.

This chocolate is tasty and super yummy. Great texture and the taste just lingers in your mouth. I bought a stunning denim handbag at their Spice route shop...so creative and a piece that I love.

I didn't realise until after we had been given the chocolate that it was literally just the tasted. Due to covid-19 there was no information provided on its making etc. I feel like there could be a way to make this a more full experience and still be covid-19 compliant. I also did not find the staff very friendly. Chocolate is tasty but overall experience was disappointing.

Recommended for those who love chocolates. And who doesn't? Such variety of chocolate and other flavors combinations. Since there was a crowd of us, it would have been nice if there was someone who gave us information about how the chocolates are made, history of the factory, source of chocolates. It was just: we paid for tasting, tasted and bought. Staff while friendly did not volunteer information unless you asked them.
And they told us that we can only take piece of chocolate from each heap (10 different heaps of chocolate pieces for 10 different flavours).
We loved the salted caramel.
Chocolate slushy tasting is separate cost. But the chocolates are worth the price. They could provided a more interesting tasting if they have a more educational approach.

This is one of our highlights when visiting the Spice Route, and an opportunity to taste a number of gorgeous chocolates in the DV range. It is also reasonably priced (R30) which helps when you have a large family.

Had such an awesome time chocolate tasting. The chocolate tasting is R25 per person and you get to taste most of the range. What I liked the most was, the staff were super friendly and helpful. If the chocolate you liked wasnt included in the tasting, they will gladly make a plan for you to taste it upon request. No rush and you can taste as many times as you want to. The chocolate slabs are also available for purchase at a much cheaper rate. Ended up purchasing four slabs.
