- 133walterVienna, Austria12 contributionsPoor management, Mess on the course, attempted green fee over chargeUnfortunately course management is less than ideal. Golf Etikette on the course is not endorsed. We experienced multiple single players without a tee time that pressed forward as if golf were about racing. In one case four flights that formed a group pursuaded the marshal to suggest let them pass through in bulk. They had no tee time which the marshal considered ok as they were Pezula club members. First confusion was already at hole 1 when a single player showed up claiming that the tee time was his. The marshal confirmed that player had that tee time though the person was not on his starter list but we were and we had got written confirmation of the said tee time. Bottom line: we experienced a big mess on that course. What made it worth is that they tried to cheat us when we booked the tee time. Only when we showed them their green fee on their own Internet portal, they granted us the right fee. Their excuse: „we are trying to fix that on the Internet“. Had we not detected the inconsistency, we would have paid roughly 50 EUR/USD more. Given the above, we have de-listed Pezula for future.Visited December 2022Written 7 December 2022
- maureencollins55County Dublin, Ireland8 contributionsDisappointedIt is a very challenging and beautiful golf course and our group of 7 players were all renting golf clubs. The men in the group each had very respectable Callaway clubs but the women's clubs were Strata. It was like playing with wooden planks! We raised the matter with the manager who advised us that 'we are looking into upgrading the clubs'. We did not find that response satisfactory as we all paid the same money and being a challenging long course, one needs decent clubs in order to enjoy playing golfVisited February 2023Written 21 February 2023
- omegacon179 contributionsThe course built in the sky, Pezula is awesome… but…In addition to the lovely clubhouse and bar, the golf course itself is stunning. A lovely meet-and-greet experience, a well designed and maintained golf course. The course is is very playable for golfers of all levels with strategically placed layup areas for shorter hitters and challenging decisions for the more skilled. Many of the holes offer magnificent views of both the lagoon and the sea shore, truly stunning. The short 5th, the 13th and 14th being personal favourites. My only gripes are (a) the 1st hole, this is (to put this mildly) a bit of a mess for the average double figure weekend golfer. It is high time this was redesigned and remains an a Achilles Heel of this otherwise awesome track. (B) Compared to other courses/estates of this level, the practice facilities are poor. There needs to exist a practice range of some sorts, not just a chip/putt area, surely one can incorporate this while redesigning the 1st?Visited April 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 27 April 2023

What a disappointment!! Never again!
Units dirty and untidy. Dirty linen in cupboards.
No curtains in one bedroom after 2 days, and still waiting.
Hasn't been cleaned properly.
Grass cutters cutting lawns at 9am.
Come on Pezula... would have expected much more from such an establishment.

We recently played Pezula with a bunch of friends and had an amazing golfing experience. The course was in great condition considering it’s a busy time of the year. Service was good, views sublime and the recently renovated clubhouse, a treat! Love Pezula-highly recommended

The Pezula Golf Hotel is situated high above the town of Knysna with views of the golf course and the beautiful bays overlooking the ocean. The rooms are very large and luxuriously appointed & the property caters for both tourists and golfers alike.
To be fair during our stay we did experience some annoying issues such as poor hot water supply but the hotel did their best to rectify the issues.
Overall this is a fine hotel but as it so spread out it is difficult to feel any atmosphere to enhance the experience during ones stay.
A very odd thing about this hotel is that two playful dogs roam free in the reception area, which if you like dogs is great but it was not to my taste in a 5 star hotel - you don't see too many at the Ritz! I did feel I should comment and was told that they were the owners dogs. I say no more!

love the views on this course, it is a challenging track ( especially when the wind blows), but you cannot but enjoy the course, with some amazing holes, plenty of baboons and great service

We stayed here with our family about a year ago and it was a really lovely experience -- the villa was great, the fireplace amazing -- especially as we were there in winter.
