Pretty lagoon. You'll find restaurants so you can eat and look over the lagoon, or take a stroll to soak in the serenity

We ordered chips for our kids only to realise that they fry the chips in the same oil as bacon n other meats.we only eat halaal. So we told them not to serve it because we wont be able to eat it. Nevertheless we paid for it. Zanele was very rude and unaccommadating as she didnt understand out situation. We then gave our kids a packet of crisp to eat. Zanele came to our table and said since we paid for the chips and didnt eat it only the children can eat the crisp. I found that very weird but agreed as long as my children could eat. Zanele kept giving us side looks and watching if we were eating the crisp(which we weren't). My one child always makes us laugh by doing silly things so she at the point was eating the crisp with her mouth open. Zanela started shaking her head as if its something major. I mean its a small child 3 years of age. After the pettiness over chips im sorry i will never go on that boat again and will convince family and others not to do so again as we are muslim and cannot consume pork. The whole trip was just miserable after the incident. And it wasnt cheap at all. Please if you are muslim do not go on this cruise!

The Knysna lagoon is a lovely place to visit, stunning scenery and a nice laid-back vibe. We drove there en route to Plettenberg Bay and enjoyed a low-key lunch at a Tapas bar on Thesen Island, such a relaxing place to wander around for a couple of hours. We didn't really explore Knysna itself too much, but it really seemed a glorious place to expereince.

Plenty of free parking in this quiet spot in the middle of the harbour area. Good for fishing and watching the ferries. Good lunch stop at Oyster bar.

My husband and I spend a long weekend in Knysna from 30 April – 5 May 2015.
Every time we feast our eyes on this magical lagoon we feel transformed into another world. The lagoon with its magnificent Heads is a place like no other.
The views from the East Head are breathtaking both from the top and the bottom. East Head Café boasts magnificent views and mouthwatering meals. The North Head boasts magnificent views of the lagoon from Margaret’s view point on the way to Brenton - on - Sea.
The Waterfront and harbor has a magical, special and very romantic ambience. There are plenty of restaurants to enjoy a mouthwatering meal and soak in the ambience. There are also plenty of interesting shops. A boat trips through the heads is highly recommended and a special way to experience the lagoon.
Thesen Island is also not to be missed. The ambience here is just as special and romantic. We have been to Tapas and Oysters Restaurant and can highly recommend this restaurant for a mouthwatering meal.
On the way back it is well worth to turn left to Leisure Island and explore this little gem as well.
The views of the lagoon filled with boats, catamarans and the well known John Benn is a sight to behold!
On each visit to Knysna we were reluctant to leave this very special and magical place!
We love Knysna and look forward to our next visit!

So many spots of relaxing with the water, the sand, the birds and the crazy shellcrabs.

Better to experience than to try to tell with words about this nature´s creation. Very interesting to study at low tide and also when the tide is coming in and what is then happening to the lagoon.

Hi, has anyone stayed on the houseboats on the lagoon? Can you swim in it? No-one seems to on the pics....
Thanks

Did not stay on the boat and the water in June did not feel inviting for swimming.
