Knysna Lagoon is a vast area of water. We spent the day at Bollard Beach, on Leisure Isle. What a fabulous day the children had, it was unusually warm for winter, and they had a blast. Take note that there are no public amenities here,...More

We went on the John Benn cruise boat for a two hour sunset 'cruise'. The views were lovely, but the boat less so; it is old and dated. As soon as we started, people started ordering their supper and we were surrounded by the smell...More

This lagoon is breathtaking! Any time of the day, any season of the year, it is always a sight to behold!

Sailing on the lagoon, whether by Catamaran, steamboot or the John Benn is a relaxing roughly 2 hour sail on a relatively smooth lagoon to the heads and back.

The lagoon is a V friendly place to visit with small to no waves and stunning views. Leisure island beaches are small but great for small kids and families. Water sports are V safe here and there are Restaurants all around to enjoy and eat.

Excellent views of Knysna lake, absolutely scenic. One can relax and enjoy the lagoon, and many restaurants to chose from

A lunchtime, leisurely cruise on the MV John Benn. Well worth doing which take you up to mouth of the lagoon. On previous visits I have seen dolphins in the lagoon but not on this occasion.

Travelling to this destination was a bit far especially if you coming from Cape Town but its all worth it. The People and surrounding areas are worth exploring and I will be coming to visit soon again.

The lagoon is actually an estuary and the second biggest after St Lucia in KZN. It is well worth a visit either with a private boat or paddle steamer.

The lagoon itself is lovely, but of course it has become a tourism magnet, with hundreds of holiday homes on Thesen Island and round most of the lagoon.

Did not stay on the boat and the water in June did not feel inviting for swimming.
