Road is strictly 4x4, but the 360 degree view is worth the drive. Make the effort and take the turn off. There are some benches at the top - worth sitting on them for a few minutes and just enjoy the view.

Takes about 40 minutes from Knysna and the last bit of the road is a little steep but we managed it a small car, Fab views from Plett to Kynsna - but make sure you go on a fine day,

This viewpoint has a rough access, but it is worth the effort to reach a wonderful viewpoint giving views in all directions. There is parking space for a few cars, but no other facilities. On the occasions that we have visited we have only once has company. Take a picnic and relax!

Whichever direction you approach from, you’re committed to a long drive on dirt and gravel that’s very rough on your car. The last 1km is particularly winding and treacherous and a single lane, so if another car is coming from the opposite direction, one of you has to back up along a rocky cliff side mountain road. And if you’re unfortunate like us and the lookout point is shrouded in cloud, you don’t even get a view. We took an hour detour and a definite beating on our car to attempt this visit. Not worth it at all.

We decided to take a look! We were driving a VW Polo up a single steep track designed for AWD vehicles, but there was no turning back so we just did it and it was well worth it for the spectacular views. Interestingly we met a vehicle on the way down, fortunately in one of the few passing places!

A stunning well kept lookout with extraordinary panoramic views circling from the coast, taking in hills and forests before sweeping back to the coast. The view point has benches and some grass. To get to the lookout a 4 x 4 vehicle would be advisable , although the roads from Knysna to Spitzkop are ok for a normal road car. But you could park and walk!

Firstly the drive to the top of the view point is awesome, though I'd only attempt it in a 4WD! Once at the top you have the most stunning views of the area, well worth the drive!

You can see forever once you reach the point on top. Road is too bad to use anything other than a 4x4. It is worth the bumpy road. Glad we stopped here for a coffee break on our way to The Baviaanskloof.
