About
Brenton-on-Sea is great for walking and sunbathing and is popular with paragliders. A big rock formation, castle Rock, is a favourite fishing spot for locals. Swimming is dangerous because of rip currents.

Great walk along the beach, felt safe, same with the parking. Restaurant nearby looked basic as (almost) any small-dorpie (village) place on a South African beach, this seemed actually even better than most from a distance. Lifeguard on duty even. Good, safe place to come.

Great place to go and sit and look at the waves rolling in. There are also a few mosiaced tables and chairs you can sit at and enjoy a picnic while admirin the view.

When around the Knysna area, do not miss Brenton on Sea - clean and wide shoreline and great for a walk and paddling.

Parked at bottom of Brenton and walked up to the other end where there was a little cafe.
The beach is wide with white sands and very few people about.Waves are stunning, fast and angry but its lovely to walk up the beach with that to see and hear.

We invited all our friends for a game of frisbee and a swim. It was amazing, secluded and simply beautiful. We all enjoyed the beautiful sunset that followed later that evening!

Largely rebuilt after the fires and a beautiful Long Beach for walking on. Nice quiet vibe and a good place to stay a few nights.

Spent one night at the Brenton on Sea self catering cottages with my family on our way back from Port Elizabeth. Situated in a secluded area just as you exit knysna coming from Port Elizabeth. Probably one of the best decisions we could have made as a family. The cottage was clean, neat and tidy. Very spacious. Had all the amenities required like a very clean fridge. stove and microwave together with utensils and crockery you can expect from a self catering facility. The view overlooking the ocean was absolutely breathtaking.A restaurant about 300m away served a variety of foods on their menu which was both good value for money and tasty. I would certainly go back for a longer stay and would recommend these cottages to anyone who is looking for peace and tranquility away from the mad rush of city life.
