Few locations that I have visited around the world provide the sheer magnitude and natural beauty of The Heads. A picturesque must-see location on your visit along the Garden Route.

You must absolutely visit the viewing point to experience the breath taking Knysna Heads with it's unique entrance to the lagoon and if you have the opportunity take a bicycle ride or walk across the Island..

Best view a must to visit when you are in Knysna. Walk around and enjoy the view.
We drove up and enjoy the view from the top and then went down and walk around on the beach and read about the ship wreck from Germany. So beautifull

It's amazing, stop at first below the heads and walk around the walkways to the rocks, where the Indian Ocean breaks in. Enjoy the power of the ocean. Than drive up to the heads and have a bright view via the ocean, the lagoon and the surrounding area.

Difficult to find words to describe this impressively beautiful area!
Chrystal clear water, great for water sports such as water skiing, fishing, sailing, rowing, surfing and so forth. Beautifully situated self catering accommodation at the 'Under Milkwood Resort'. Very nice city center with all shops according to your needs. From clothing and souvenir shops at The Waterfront to mouth watering restaurants on Thesen island. All within easy reach!

We wanted to get to the view site but had to drive up and down the hill 4 times before we took a chance and eventually found the parking area. One last, clear sign board at the parking lot will save strangers to you town a lot of frustration.

Notwithstanding the fact that we visited on a rainy day and had some magnificent views. The Heads are amazing. Especially when you think of how hundreds of years ago that sailing vessels made it through. And that was without the modern navigational equipment.

The Heads can be visited either by land or by sea. Park at the East Head Cafe and experience The Heads by land along the various rocky paths and lookout points. One can also drive up to the Coney lookout point for a magnificent 360 degree view of the sea, Heads and Lagoon. Then visit East Head for a coffee, drink and meal. Seeing The Heads from the sea is even more spectacular. We have the privilege of owning a boat so visit The Heads by sea often. However, there are many charter companies that offer Heads excursions from the harbour or Cruise Cafe.

Obrigado.

We had lunch at the Waterfront at The Dry Dock. The oysters were fantastic and so was the steak.
