Lovely, interesting and brilliant beaches

Great place for long walks on near empty beaches with good restaurants and water sports. We stayed in Sedgefield, a pleasant village, with good pubs and shops. Not far to either... read more

First of all, the road is mostly quite for from the sea. Actually you do not feel to be in africa at most times, could be southern europe. Rather touristy however has a big name for a long time! Not worth to go only for this route, however nice if you have to pass trough anyway

Did a long walk to a waterfall that was a good bit of exercise but not the most impressive walk or set of waterfalls. Wish we had spent more time at the beaches especially Brenton on sea.

Only pleasant...very farming land on both sides of the road. No real stopping points for viewing or cafes for a coffee stop. We did the Great Ocean Road from Melbourne a month later....no comparrison. We found Knysna the only place to stop

Great place for long walks on near empty beaches with good restaurants and water sports. We stayed in Sedgefield, a pleasant village, with good pubs and shops. Not far to either Knysna or George. Opportunities for para gliding, surfing At Buffles Bay, a particularly lovely beach and an super walk of 5km on hard sand to Brenton on Sea. Friendly... More

We only had time for a mornings trip to Knysna elephant park but more could include riding and walking with them which would have been better. The waterfront at Knysna was full of seaside shops and restaurants reminiscent of seaside towns in the u.k. The views leaving were magnificent and there were designated photo stops.

Stunning area to explore & we walked the Storms River Gorge and the suspension bridge. Well managed area but in a very discrete natural way. There were many walk and activities within this nature reserve and we will definitely return to explore more

Travelled the Garden Route yesterday and today. Very disappointed and not what I expected. I know it's mid summer here and very dry, but so is Crete in June and that Island is awash with Oleander in flower all along the road sides. Here, it's just pine trees. Undoubtedly there is some beautiful coastline scenery and perhaps in a Spring... More

Travelled from port Elizabeth to Wilderness and cannot say that there is a part of it that is not stunning. Plettenburg Bay, Knysna, Wilderness, Natures Valley all glorious.

We came across this activity because we wanted a coffee on our way to Storms River. Didn't do the Bungy jump! The scenery is magnificent.
