This company is professional, helpful and friendly. They can find good deals for your trip. They know a lot about South Africa’s destinations. They provide a detailed itinerary with directions and driving tips and are available in the unlikely event that you need help on your safari.

My wife and I spent all of November 2019 exploring the amazing natural and cultural attractions of South Africa thanks to the dedicated team at Go Self-Drive Tours. The team worked with us in the months before the trip, tailoring the route to our interests and preferences and took all the worry out of planning a lengthy stay in a new country.
The trip started out with two days on the Panorama Route just outside of Kruger National Park, followed by 5 days in Kruger itself. Hennie Becker, our tour organizer provided us with great service throughout this portion of the trip, driving us to our accommodations, preparing our meals and providing us with all the benefits of his knowledge and experience of South African nature and culture. Our safari guide Jayden was also very knowledgeable and dedicated to finding all the big game animals for us. As a bonus, Jayden was also an expert birder, which fit in well with our interests. All in all, the accommodations were excellent and we greatly appreciated the personal touch the Go Self-drive team put into this part of the trip.
From Kruger we flew to Cape Town where we were met by Elmor, our guide and driver. We spent four days in a very comfortable apartment-hotel on the waterfront. Elmor was an excellent guide and gave us a great overview of Cape Town and its various neighbourhoods. The tour included a visit to Robben Island and also to the Cape Peninsula and Cape of Good Hope. Cape Town was followed by two nights at a wine estate in the Stellenbosch wine area, including a day-long hop-on-hop off wine tram tour of several wineries.
At this point we picked up our rental car and spent the next two weeks on the self-drive portion of our trip. The first week was spent exploring the Garden Route - Hermanus, l'Agulhas, Knysna and Tsitsikamma. Beautiful beaches and sea-shores, incredible fynbos flowers, amazing birds. The accommodations were excellent and the suggested activities along the way added a lot to the trip. Especially recommend hiking on the Robberg Peninsula and in Tsitsikamma National Park.
The following week was spent driving back to the west coast via the interior route through the Klein Karoo. Great accommodations at the Gumtree Lodge in Oudtshoorn and a breathtaking day trip over two mountain passes to Prince Albert. The week ended at our very favorite accommodation at the Enjo farm northeast of Calnwilliam in the Cederberg area - way off the beaten track in a spectacular setting. It would be hard to imagine planning this leg of the journey on our own - kudos to the Go Self-drive team for organizing this unique experience!
From there it was back to the West Coast with stops at Bird Island, West Coast National Park and Paternoster, then back down to Cape Town for our flight back home. Thanks to the whole team for making this a most memorable trip!

We were family of 3 (10 yrs old kid) and traveled through Garden route via motorhome (camper).
We started planing the trip a bit late since we were traveling from 30/12-10/1/2020--high season. For that reason sometimes the accommodation (camp grounds) were either full or did not have much of a choice. Few times we had to go to a chalet or bungalow, which was in our case not necessary since we had a motorhome...Also I believe the company does not have much experience in organising a trip for motorhome, so at the end of the trip , we would do few things different as far as accommodation.
Everything else was really nice from Karoo area , Robberg peninsula, Schotia Safari, Tsitskiama national park, Plettenberg Bay, etc.
Correspodence with Elmor and his collegues was good and they would answer email fast .
I would definately recommend this company for organising your trip, just make sure you start organising it far in advance for the high season!

We just returned from our 22-day family road trip ‘off the beaten track’ to the most beautiful places on the Wild Coast. We visited Bethulie, Kei Mouth, Mazeppa Bay, Bulungula, Lubanzi, Coffee Bay, Port St Johns and Oribi Gorge, what an amazing part of South Africa.

This is our second trip that Go Self Drive booked and arranged for us and we knew we would be in the best hands.

We started our planning quite late in the year but knew that by contacting Hennie and Elaine they would come up with some great recommendations and ideas.
Elaine always promptly and efficiently answered all of our questions and made great recommendations and ensured to book us a delicious Xmas Day meal while traveling in a remote area.

Prior to our trip they delivered our comprehensive travel package, which contained directions, information on where we were staying and what to do as well as a road atlas.

Our family had such a wonderful time and experience and would book our next road trip with Go Self Drive AGAIN in a heartbeat.
Thank you and keep up the great work!

Go Self-Drive organized our 13-day trip to Mozambique and South Africa - Kruger Park in December 2019. We are a family of 5 from Portugal, and I just want to say this: GREAT EXPERIENCE! Everyone at Go Self-Drive has been amazing and offered great service, friendliness and availability. 5 stars! Special thanks to Elaine, with whom we have always had excellent communication and flexibility, and to Hennie, who kindly welcomed us upon arrival and gave us all the precious directions we followed on our trip.
We strongly recommend Go Self-Drive to all who, like us, want to have a great experience in these magnificent locations.

Our group of ten (10) friends and family members had the great fortune to consult with Go Self Drive Tours for planning an 18-day safari through South Africa, eSwatini (Swaziland), and Lesotho. Our route began at Kruger National Park, transited the cool highlands of eSwatini, wound through game parks and preserves of Kwa-Zulu Natal, including St. Lucia, then finally ended in the spectacular Drakensberg Mountains and Sani Pass.

What a lucky break to have hit the jackpot with such a sterling team of travel consultants! Elmor Becker was our primary contact. Over the course of several months prior to our arrival, he patiently and efficiently helped us craft a trip that will live on in our memories forever. If the accommodations that I had selected might be a bit worn, he would gently suggest alternatives that were higher quality and at far greater value. Consequently, each time that we arrived at a new destination, our jaws would drop and I'd redirect praise raised among our group about the newfound charm of our lodging back to Go Self Drive Tours!

As a seasoned traveler to southern Africa, I never anticipated being so surprised at every turn. To be sure, seeing wild dog and leopard the first morning at Kruger is not the regular course of affairs. It is, however, difficult to consistently deliver "great" accommodations and food along an entire 3-week itinerary. Yet whether it was eating breakfast overlooking the Indian Ocean, or watching the huge "tuskers" on a game drive at Tembe Elephant Park, the hits never stopped.

Elmor and everyone else at Go Self Drive Tours exceeded every hope and measure. Their knowledge and familiarity with this region is unsurpassed; the service impeccable. Not only will we be back, we will chose Go Self Drive Tours for all of our bookings and planning needs. And so should you!
