We had booked on an eco tour of the lagoon but turned up only to be told that as not enough people had booked the tour was cancelled. So we walked around the corner to find the "Oyster Tour" just departing. What fun! The tour guide Alex had a great sense of humour and we had a trip around the... More

Disappointing if you wanted to know about or see oyster farming. Great if you want a glass of cheap wine, a few oysters from a bag and a trip round the bay.

It was billed as a sunset champagne and oysters tour on the leaflet but there was only wine served. Also the leaflet said the tour would go out to the Knysna Heads but we didn't even get close, with no explanation offered. Overall duration was also shorter than advertised. The guide Carl was friendly and well-informed.

We were first time oyster eaters and we thought this would be the ideal way to try them for the first time. Plenty of information about oysters and how to eat them. IIt was a nice little tour and reasonably priced. Buy a bottle in Quay Four and take it with you on the tour. I would defiantly recommend this... More

We booked for just the simple oyster tasting and arrived to a room full of school children (around 90). The amazing organisers then offered us a separate instructional experience on the boat so that we were not disturbed by the children. We felt this was a great service and really appreciated it. The guid was informative and interesting and we... More

This was billed as a champaign and oyster boat ride around the bay at Knysna. There were indeed two bottles of champaign shared by about 15 of us, and indeed a few oysters were shucked and offered, each of us got about 1, but they were very small, not locally produced and tasteless, and I have eaten thousands of oysters... Very interesting tour and tasting of oyster farm. This area is famous for their oysters so why not indulge? The oysters we tasted were pulled right out of the water so were very briny and salty tasting. This is an acquired taste if you are accustomed to oysters that have been flushed with fresh water prior to serving (as customary... More

We all enjoyed going on a relaxing oyster trip around Knysna Lagoon learning how to use a sharp knife and glove in order to extract an oyster from its shell, adding lemon and then eating the oysters with white wine. Very pleasant tour.
