What a wonderful find. We stopped for a wine tasting and also had a fantastic cheese platter. It was wonderfully positioned. Great service. Never felt rushed and enjoyed every moment. Would highly recommend.

The wine estate is on a gravel road about 6 km off the N2. Beautiful setting in the forest where I didn't expect a vineyard at all. Friendly staff, delicous cheese platter with home made bread. Wine tasting included MCC and 3 more wines for R 100. Wonderful experience and likely to be back.

Awesome and friendly service. The fire was going on a cold wet winters day. Recommend the wine tasting and cheese platter.

We have spent the last 2 months travelling the Eastern and Western Cape for our honeymoon . And Packwood has been just incredible and a notch above all our other destinations . It's far enough off the beaten track to relax ,but close enough to all amenities in the area like the elephant 🐘 park , Wolf 🐺 sanctuary, raptor rescue and the beaches . The forest walks were just amazing . They also do cheese and wine ( all made and grown on Packwood estate ) lunches which we found to be the best in the area . The Chardonnay and the Blanc Noir were my husbands favourites . The BirdLife is mindblowing. Just sit on the deck you will be surrounded by so many species I suggest you bring a bird book . When there was loadshedding it didn't really affect us as the cooking facilities are all gas . There was a very private deck where on a clear day we could see the sea and an enclosed completely private courtyard leading from the kitchen. Having 2 bathrooms in one property is also very rare so that surprised us . If you want complete privacy then this is the perfect spot , but also just a 2 minute walk from lunching facilities. We also got to see the vervet monkeys which was brilliant. We extended our stay as it was just a little piece of heaven and will be one of the best memories of our honeymoon. We will never visit South Africa again without going to Packwood estate .

Beautiful place with good wines! Very nice experience, with friendly staff - Worth the visit! The tasting room was full but when we arrived the owner decided to accommodate us with a personal tasting experience in a seperate tasting room.

Lovely quaint vineyard through the mountains. Ilse was a great host and is very knowledgeable about the Packwood wines. The cheese platter was devine and we had x2 of the homemade breads. The quantity of wine provided more than adequate for a tasting, more than some restaurants provide for a glass charge. Would absolutely recommend the estate a quick quiet quaint wine tasting stop.
Thanks Ilse and the Packwood team.

What a waste of time. The road and wine is as terrible as the atmosphere. Can you give a little more, especially having to pay for 5 drops of wine.

I went with some friends to Packwood for a wine tasting, and was lucky enough to find the winemaker Sollie there, who gave us an amazing and interesting tasting.
As it was time for brunch, we ordered the Eggs Benedict to eat, followed by some of the gorgeous cheese produced on the farm.
