About
Our cellar and wine brand is proud to pay homage to and re-live the origin of our village, Hermanuspietersfontein, as it was first named in 1855. Our passion and commitment is to produce wines of the highest quality and to add value to the reputation, which Hermanus enjoys as a premium wine-producing region. Here our winemaker, Bartho Eksteen, makes world-class wines in a state of the art wine cellar, using only the highest quality grapes from one farm. He controls the process from vineyard to cellar and plies his craft and passion under seamless conditions to produce wines of distinctive style and character. Our tasting room is open from 08:00 - 17:00 during the week and cellar tours available on request. Our courtyard transforms into a Food & Wine Market every Saturday offering the best of local produce! Come for breakfast, stay for lunch and buy dinner on your way out... And don't forget about the wine!

Cheese platter!
Dec 2019 • Couples
Hermanuspietersfontein has always been a favourite of mine, but the wine tasting exposed me to all the other wines i never thought to try before. Staff are highly entertaining and full of personality. Will go again.

Wine Tasting
Jun 2019 • Solo
I was first introduced to HPF at least a decade ago, and was taken with their "Bloos" rosé, which was unlike any rosé I'd tasted before. Earlier this week I went in for a wine tasting. The lady who served me was most knowledgeable and had many stories to tell. Of course, the Bloos was as good as ever. I'd definitely be back!

Wine tasting
Dec 2018 • Couples
This is a must do when visiting Hermanus. Interesting history of the town coupled with great wines. The wine names are really fun and puts a smile on your face. This period the tasting was free...no charge! Staff were very friendly and gave lots of time to enjoy each selected white or red wine we choose. We bought Kaalvoet meisie and Kleinboet to enjoy later at home. Must to visit

Saturday's Wine tasting and Market
Aug 2018 • Couples
The wines where lovely displayed but the staff made little effort to tell us how each wine got it's funky name or how each wine is made. The market was excellent though and loved the atmosphere.

Wine blenders of note
Jun 2018 • Couples
We did the blend your own Bordeaux course as part of the Fynaarts festival and had the most amazing fun and experience. Wilhem was such a wonderful teacher and so unpretentious . We loved every minute of it and felt exceptionally proud of our "angel wing " and "SW6 " blends. Such a fun day and would highly recommend it to anybody wanting to learn a bit more about wine. Www I'll be back to refill our bottles , over and over be warned 😃😃😃😃

Dreadful tasting - blame management
Mar 2018 • Friends
It is a pity that this is just a tasting room - being on the actual wine estate makes the experience a lot more meaningful. However, I had wanted to try these wines for a while, so we settled down at a table which was being blasted by a freezing air-conditioner; the young man in attendance couldn't change the settings so we moved tables. I had quite a few questions about the wines and the estate - none of which he could answer. He knew nothing. It appeared that this was his second shift. Why management thought it was okay to leave a total rookie in charge is beyond me. We buy wines that have a history and a story - we were offered neither. The wines tasted alright (nothing to really write home about) but the whole incompetent experience left us with a bad taste.
