Easy to follow trails that can be mixed and matched. Great views of the coast, town and across to Walker Bay. A must visit whilst you’re here. Not very steep, well marked and good underfoot.

Lovely nature reserve with plenty of day hiking options (and probably multi-day as well). No need for a guide or anything, just target getting their before say 13:00 as afternoon storms may roll in unexpectedly in summer months. The views are absolutely beautiful!

Spent almost four hours walking through Fernklook. Magnificent views and pleasantly surprised to see security roaming the footpaths for the security of visitors. We did not see other hikers but felt perfectly safe.

Our walk in Fernkloof nature reserve stands out as one of my most worthwhile outdoor experiences ever. The trails along the mountain slopes are interesting and the scenery from high up there is marvelous, with the town down below and the blue ocean in the background. It was early winter but the day was blue and sunny. A visit in spring when all the flowers are blooming will be wonderful. We already saw some proteas and heath.

Beautiful hiking trails with the option of a swim in the dam. Pet friendly - can do both short or lengthier hikes. Stunning fynbos.

Clean, safe, picturesque, relaxing. Take the time to stop at the many clean and well maintained benches and take in the amazing views.

There are several hiking trails available at the Fernkloof Nature Reserve with the route to the Assegaaibos waterfall being the most popular and arguably the most beautiful. The route is fairly easy and as the vegetation changes from small fynbos to being surrounded by the forest. At the waterfall you just can't help but be mesmerized by the natural beauty. After reaching the waterfall, which was in full force after the recent rains, we decided to take the Lemoenkop route which gave us a great view of Hermanus. Overall the paths were very well maintained and vary in difficulty. If you are a nature lover and find yourself in Hermanus, this reserve is a must visit!
