This lookout point is almost in central Hermanus but only accessible on foot from a lower parking area – we found a far better view point that looks down on the Koppie far below and has much better extensive views over Hermanus and along the...More

Hoy' Koppie, the most beautiful views of Hermanus and the sea! You can enjoy the abundant fynbos in peace. No littering and a well kept road ensure a trip around this jewel of Hermanus will be remembered forever.

Even though I did this in the rain, I still enjoyed it! It only takes about 10 minutes to walk to the top, where you can see amazing views of Hermanus and the surrounding areas. The site itself is not marked too clearly, but it...More

An easy walk/hike up to the top, just behind Hermanus Station Shopping Centre. Great 360° views of Hermanus. Some History about the Koppie (Hill) along the way. Worth a look!

Took some time off to clime (easy peasy) this Koppie which is located in the centre of Hermanus. Once on top, the view of the entire town and the ocean are in full view. A nice way to spend a couple of hours

Wonderful spot, take the camera! Be careful at the very top there can be swarms of bees....if you see someone at the top waving their arms then this is the reason. That said don't miss it

A leisurely 10-15 minutes
This is were Sir and Lady Hoy were buried, on top of Hoys Koppie. Mr Hoy were the General Manager of the Railway at beginning of the 20th Century. He wanted to keep Hermanus clean and did not want unwanted elements to come to Hermanus, so he had the power to stop any railway tracks and trains to come to Hermanus. The station were already build and become a bus station. Hermanus were known back in the days as an very popular fishing place. And because we never had trains coming here, Hermanus is proud to have a SANSA agency in Hermanus

I do think it is quite save to start walking from East Cliff Spar on the sea paths up to Grotto beach. It is a very nice walk with a beautiful view.
