Best views of any winery in Constantia. Interesting set up with separate wine tasting and restaurant (both reservation essentially required) - there is a patio with a wine/burger truck and a grassy space from which you can also enjoy wine. However, if you are not fully mobile or have children - there are many better options. I will note the manager was very understanding, and there are plans to improve accessibility. Also- rose fully sold out.

As an experienced restaurant visitor I was blown away with the tastes I experienced in that place. Every plate we got was balanced and thought through, and we were paired with excellent wines.
Don’t miss the desserts which are a perfect roundup of this experience! Great staff not to mention the location!

While visiting Cape Town we visited two restaurants in this price range. We had booked the chef table which I would not recommend. It’s noisy and the lighting is bad, you cannot see the art work on the plates. The food was excellent and presentation great. The service was good but it was without any emotion - business as usual. But what we cannot accept was that the restrooms where never checked and cleaned even though the restaurant was fully booked, they were filthy!!!!

BC is well-worth a visit for its wines, its views of the Constantia Valley and its warm and friendly service. We were a large group but we were accommodated easily in their very modern and tasteful tasting room. The stand out wine for me was the Cecily, and although the Lucca was not on the tasting menu, it's worth hunting down. Our server was very attuned to the energy of the group and made the tasting fun and memorable. The platters were some of the best I have had - no-nonsense, simple and rustic; also very generous and good value for money. The staff from the moment we entered were friendly and helpful, and BC have a great offering there at the top of the valley. I would heartily recommend it for any CT itinerary.

The service at Beau Constantia was very slow and hit and miss. We had to ask three times for some water to go with our wine tasting and twice for the bill. We felt the tasting room was understaffed. The wines were okay but nothing special. We were then overcharged for the tasting. Great view from the loos but these were very poorly looked after. Someone had the idea of providing little towels to dry your hands. However, there were hardly any supplied, no clean ones when we were there in the middle of the day, and the used ones were thrown carelessly about by previous guests. Not pleasant in the least. An occasional visit from a cleaner would be a good idea!

Have been in Constantia so often but never visited this winery... what a shame.
The location is amazing. Modern, friendly and the lookout is fantastic. The family owned winery offers two nice tasting options. The tasting is fine by friendly staff, loving what they are doing. And the wines are awesome. Not just the typical average South African wines. They created some really special ones. Go there and enjoy!!!

First and foremost I'd like to apologize for the delayed review.
What a spectacular area that you have, the view is absolutely everything.
My cousins and I arrived at Beau Constantia very buzzing (had visited Groot Constantia and Eagles Nest before arriving at Beau Constantia). We arrived at the warm welcome of Q and I must say that she was very patient with us, I still wonder how she managed to remain calm and allow us to stay. Thank you so much Q.
We will definitely come back because honestly speaking, we didn't hear a word you said, we were just talking and enjoying the wine. LOL.

What a great afternoon. Wine tasters looking over a beautiful part of the world. It was a bit chilly but we were all given blankets! The highlight was our wine waiter. Wow - funny, knowledgeable and an absolute delight. We would come back again just to be entertained by such an incredible young man.

Beau Constantia is a modern winery with fantastic views over the vineyards and False Bay in the distance. Unfortunately, the service was rather uninspiring and his story rattled off quickly. For lunch we had a choice of 3 options: Cheese and sausage board, cheese board or the vegetarian board. When I got home I read that they also have a very good restaurant there. What a missed opportunity! (for both parties) There could have been more.

Wow...what an experience. We came here for lunch and we were blown away by the vegan option. The best vegan food we'd ever had! The staff couldn't be friendlier. A lovely, modern yet super classy place without the pretentiousness of neighbouring establishments! We will be back for sure.

I would to visit Beau Constantia for both wine tasting/vineyard tour as well as the sit-down restaurant. Should I book a lunch there or early evening dinner? Thank you!

I agree with the above, a long, lazy lunch enjoying the views & without driving back in the dark.

How much should I expect for dinner?
Written 18 August 2019
I cannot say for sure how much the dinner was exactly but I treated three of us and believe it was under $100. You will find the prices in south Africa fabulous compared to cost in the states for a equivalent meal.

How long does it take to get there on the hop on hop off from the V & A waterfront?
Written 23 January 2018
I'd say about half an hour if the traffic isn't too congested. Beau Constantia is right where the stop to connect to the wine bus is [no need to get on the wine bus as it's 5mins walk from the stop]

Can anyone please advise how much a lunch for two would cost at Chefs Warehouse?
thank you in advance!
Written 13 October 2017
If I recall about R500 for two. The lunch is designed in a number of courses and is for two people. An odd number of people is more awkward in that you then have to choose 1/2 the dishes they would normally serve for the 3rd (odd number) person. That’s why I suggest the price for 2 people rather than per head. Excluding wine. It’s not cheap but excellent small plate ‘fine dining’. Tapas size. Hope this helps...

CAN you just call in for a glass of wine or do you have to book?
Written 16 August 2017
Hi. We just walked in from the bus stop! The hop on hop off stops just along the road! Enjoy!

Hello, we will be visiting from Australia in June, my sister ( who lives in Constansia) has been giving us glowing review about your resturant, however I did notice in one trip advisor review that it can be quite dificult to walk from the car park to the resturant. My husband is an ex rugby player and unfortunately his knees are not in a good state, is it quite a distance from the car park to the restaurant?

Hi Carolyn, was just wondering what time of year you saw the moon rise. We are holidaying from Australia and your comments sounded magical :)
