We did thre 20 day trip from Capetown through Namibia , Botswana and on to Vic Falls. We chose the Lodge accomodation and were very happy with all the lodges we stayed at , food was always good and there was a nice balance of travel and different things to do . The pace was well managed given that we covered 5700k, with some long days getting to places which we expected. Our guide was extremely knowledgable and a pleasure to have around. Mishek was full of fun facts and stories and handled the driving and Tour lead very well. Our group of 16 travellers proved to be wonderful travel companions and everyone got along really well. Would recommend this trip to anyone who has a sense of adventure and will enjoy seeing the wildlife in their environment. We saw the big 5 and will have lifelong memories of this trip.

To just say our safari was enjoyable would be a huge understatement! Traveling across the beautiful countries of South Africa, Botswana & Zimbabwe with our guide Weston both met & exceeded our expectations. The experience was more than being accompanied by a guide & more like joining an old friend who shared the beautiful resources, extensive knowledge & interesting history of his countries with us. From the very beginning he gave us a comfort level with his attention to detail to make sure each person as well as the group as a whole was adequately prepared for the journey. Our comfort level of traveling in a foreign country was continually increased with his leadership & guidance which allowed us to enjoy the sights & sounds without hesitation. We experienced a vast number of animals & landscape with Weston providing expert knowledge along the way. Our living accommodations were as described when booking the trip with great food options & services for all but one location. Planet Baobab was a disappointment with average accommodations that were overshadowed by terrible service. Our game drives, scenic hikes & sunset cruises were excellent with much to see while enjoying the relaxation of being on the water. Weston was well planned for our lengthy periods of travel with stops at safe & clean points to toilet &/or eat. In reflection the trip itself would have been a good experience with any other guide, but we felt Weston took such pride to ensure our trip elevated to the great level!

Delightful trip with Adam from Kiboko. We booked a 2 week trip travelling through Namibia, Botzwana and concluded in Zimbabwe. Experiences and tours were well organised, accomodation was great. Adam is experienced, knowledgable, and patient. He has a great sense of humour and we thrilled to have our holiday guided by him. There was some long days on the road and some Namibian roads provided for a bumpy ride of the bus. Recommend you download audiobooks, podcast and music to pass the time.

We started out with many fears and just as many hopes, but in the end we found ourselves having everything confirmed. It cannot be denied that the journey is tiring, that the pre-dawn alarm clocks are unpleasant, that the accommodations are spartan but neither can it be denied that the places visited are beautiful, that the emotions are varied, that the wild nature of Africa is captured in its fullness precisely by virtue of the elimination of many of those barriers that normally separate the tourist from the countries visited.
And so when you leave the tent to go to the bathroom at night you see a jackal running away, or before falling asleep you hear the laughter of the hyenas or the roar of the lion in the distance, all, thanks to the organization and competence of the organisers, always in full feeling of security.
Or in the ritual of observing the watering holes we discover the hierarchy of the savannah: first the elephants, then the rhinos, then the felines and finally the herbivores; and again, after dinner, raising your eyes and discovering a starry sky that we no longer see, an emotion for everyone but a real celebration for enthusiasts.
Well done to the driver who took on grueling transfers on mostly dirt roads, good to the chef who changed the menu practically every evening even though he only had a field kitchen at his disposal, very good Chiara, our Italian guide, friendly and competent, full of advice and information, present in times of need. He also took us to the right places to see all the animals we were looking for, even the most difficult to find, such as leopard, hyena and cheetah.
In short, in the end a trip that we will remember for a long time, also thanks to our companions, with whom we formed a close-knit and fun group.

We took the 20-day overland tour from Cape Town to Victoria Falls offered by Kiboko Adventures. This involved staying in lodges and the fellow travelers were all seniors, like us. Our objectives were to see the varied landscapes of the four countries we went through (South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe), visit National Parks, meet local people, and experience more than what a typical safari would provide. The tour met all these objectives. Granted, it is not for everyone. We were riding a specially designed truck/bus that was able to go on all terrains. The rides were long and not always comfortable. However, we had a great time. Our guide/driver, Misheck is an exceptional person. He not only took us around, but really took care of us. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is adventurous, curious and does not mind some physical discomfort to gain a lifetime experience.

Assuming that the places visited were beautiful, let's see the travel company.
At first we travel with old broken dirty track without air-conditioning and any confort. Broken 2 times on the way losing time and finally changed at last 3 days with another one more broked that we use before. Inside freeze cover broken and also nothing cold inside. There wasn't a tourist guide on bord. Just a simple drive...chef and manual.
There wasn't a group leader than everybody did what they want without respect.
Old tents with zip broken all the times that staff refuse to fix. Staff take advance of customers that few times that they can.
Many times they was arrogant and rudes with customers that pay thousands dollars to have this trip.
let's come to the group:
completely divided between two alcoholic Australian spinsters and two arrogant New Zealand sheepherders with whom there were moments of tension but for the rest of the trip we pretended nothing had happened.
the guides pretended nothing was happening. That's right, there were no rules about seating or even about who was trying to fill that broken-down refrigerator with their own alcohol.
in the end I would do the trip again. but not with this company.
This is my fifth safari. so i know how these trips should be.
Ahhh forget, with that big truck the games were not possible so many excursions were done separately and by paying extra. and not a little money.

We did the Namibia tour with Kiboko.
Beautiful landscapes and everything organized in a flawless way. A huge thanks to the guys who accompanied us. Our guide Washington was very organized, he drove every day for many kilometers always with a smile and always satisfied our curiosity explaining everything in detail. Dean and Simon accompanied our journey with their friendliness, exuberance and their fantastic dishes. A special thanks also to Luca, our Italian guide, for being a real travel companion.
They have created a very close-knit team and made us feel like we were always in family
It was a fantastic tour that I absolutely recommend and would gladly do again

Kiboko Adventures was absolutely fantastic. The whole trip (South Africa Falls to Cape) was perfectly run with our guide, driver and cook being easy to get along with, extremely knowledgeable and efficient. The food was amazing, the game drives were just great and we saw most of the animals that we wanted to. We did a 'glamping' tour of 20 days, and appreciated the tents being put up and down by the crew. Campgound facilities were mostly great for where we were in Botswana, Namibia and South Africa. I would recommend the company to anyone wanting to do a similar trip.

From the first meeting with Adam our driver/ guide to arriving in Victoria falls 14 days later we were blown away by the great organisation and care taken to ensure everything went smoothly enabling us to have the trip of a lifetime .
Adam looked after all 16 of our group in a friendly, competent and professional manner.
Throughout the trip , the scenery was breathtaking. The lodges were comfortable and often exceeded our expectation . The food was extremely good with plenty of variety .
Lots of additional experiences are offered ,we would strongly recommend the helicopter over the Okovango delta . It is difficult to imagine the vastness of the area from the boat trips .
We were extremely lucky meeting the best group of travel companions from all round the world to the share the trip with.
We strongly recommend this company to anyone considering this sort of trip.

Well, what can I say, we were shown the best of Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia by our hosts Weston and Thabani who looked after us extremely well. We had a superb two weeks from Victoria Falls to Hwange National Park to Nata Bird Sanctuary and Magadikadi Pans to the Kwai area of Moremi Game Reserve to Maun and the Ocovango Panhandle to Katima Mulilo to Kasane and then to the Chobe River.
The range of wildlife including lions, leopards, giraffe, zebra, wild dogs, hippo, elephants, fish eagles, kingfishers, cranes, honey bee birds to name just a few was outstanding. All the guides we had were excellent, knowledgeable and with their tracking skills knew the best possible places to view wildlife.
If you want a very well organised trip, great food, great company and the opportunity to see a huge range of wildlife we would highly recommend Kiboko and especially Weston and Thabani.

I am an Australian doing the Transkalahari Adventure Northbound in July 2020 I believe I need a visa for part of the trip. Can I apply online or otherwise do I get it on arrival in Cape Town ?
Written 13 February 2020
The only visa you need is for Zimbabwe. This you will get at the border upon entry - USD30 per person. It is very simple to get at the border. Other countries on this tour you do not need visas for.

Bonjour Alexandra,
Emmanuel

Hi i Am going on trans Kalahari tour from vic falls to capetown in May this year and wondered if anyone did the optional tours in Botswana.and if they were worthwhile. There doesn’t seem to be much included tours here apart from etosha Nat park. Thanks nora

Make sure whatever you do you check out the visa and passport requirements. I.e. Devils Pool is in Zambia

We will be going on this tour in about a month. What would you advise is needed for money... did you use "Rand, pula" or other currency. Also what would your recommendation be as to how much to bring with us.
Written 30 January 2019
Hi, in Zimbabwe and Botswana we used U.S dollars, things are very cheap there so you don't need a lot. We used rand on sth Africa as they won't take anything else. It is hard to say how much spending money you need not knowing what you will buy. You will go to a few markets where you need cash to buy souvenirs. Have a great trip.

Bonjour,

Cordialement
