This was an amazing trip with a great company and was beyond all expectations from the truck travel, lodges, food, animals we saw but mainly because of our driver Dumi who made such a difference with his knowledge and facts and willingness to share with us old timers and his personality was such as I wish I had. My wife and I totally recommend this company Kiboko with their great tours, back-up plans in csae of emergencies and just great people

This was an amazing trip, led by a wonderful crew, Richard, the tour leader, who was always in a good mood and would give us lots of information, Colin, our excellent driver, and Mzi, who created the most delicious dishes and always cooked something special for us, because we are vegetarians. We spent long days on the road, so we got a good idea of the vastness of the countries we travelled through. On the way there were stops for sights, shops, coffee or lunch. The campsites were varied, from bushcamping in the middle of nowhere to the most luxurious camps. The scenery was awesome, especially in Namibia and all the gamedrives were unforgettable. We saw a great many animals in their natural habitat, in the parks and also in the delta. It was a fantastic adventure and we can certainly recommend Kiboko.

Kiboko lived up to all our expectations. Colin (Driver) Mzi (Chief) Richard our leader were an amazing team. Mzi can cook up a 5 star meal 3 times a day. Camping was fun, but very hot at night. The drives were long over some very rough roads, and the truck didn't fall apart. Only 2 tyre blow outs. Richard had a wealth of knowledge and always interesting to sit a chat with. The highlight of course is seeing the animals in their natural environment. We loved the whole experience and would use Kiboko again.

The bad: the truck, the roads and the long travel days. We were expecting bumpy roads, but the truck didn’t seem to have proper suspension, which made things really uncomfortable. Even on sealed roads it wasn’t good, so on the dirt roads in Namibia the truck was pretty bad. Windows got jammed, armrests came off, door seals broke (dust coming in to the truck), the luggage hold got jammed. Not that any of those things are such a big deal individually (we only had one real breakdown), but they give an idea about the jolting on the truck. We spoke to people on other tours (including the other Kiboko one) and they didn’t have the same issues we did, despite the roads. The travel days were often really long - 8/9 hours on the road. That meant we sometimes ended up with limited time at our destinations. E.g we only spent 15 minutes at Fish River Canyon out of a 9 hour driving day. A couple of the destinations weren’t that interesting (e.g. the wildflowers and Kgalagadi), but things improved a lot for the second half of the trip. The good: We saw amazing animals and scenery! Etosha and Chobe had so many animals. At the Etosha waterhole there were zebras, followed by elephants, then giraffes, then rhinos... Exactly what we’d hoped for in Africa. The desert scenery in Namibia was stunning at times, almost other worldly. Vic Falls was also amazing. In terms of the tour, the accommodation was overall really good. There were a couple of below average places, but also lots of super nice places. The food was nice. Overall, I’d definitely recommend visiting this part of the world, but the truck and long travel days did spoil things.
