Wine Desk is a wine tourism consultancy operating in Cape Town since 2002. We offer a broad spectrum of tours from small group, scheduled day tours, to tailor-made, personalised private tours. If you ever want to book a winetour in Cape Town book Ligia.
It was a perfect day with a lot of information about history and a lot of knowledge about wine. Ligia is an inspiring woman with passion for wine. Thanks a lot for the great experience!

We booked the tour to Franschhoek and were so impressed by Ligia, we went back for a second trip to Stellenbosch and a third to the cape. All the bespoke tours were carefully put together including amazing locations, very friendly and knowledgeable people at stunning vineyards with fabulous wines. Ligia's expert knowledge of the area, history and wine trade made the trips both enjoyable and informative. She also recommended superb restaurants. We would highly recommend Wine Desk to anyone interested in wine, but also those who enjoy visiting stunning locations and delicious food. Perfect if you are looking for a relaxed, no hassle day away from the city. Alan, Ali and Emily

We took a quick half day tour to the wineries closest to Cape town during a recent visit. What a highlight of our trip!! Beautiful, such great wine, and Ligia was extremely informative and wonderful time to be around. I would 100% recommend this tour!

I booked Ligia to take my husband and I on a private tour of SA wine country. I have been drinking South African wine for a little over a year and one of the wineries I wanted to visit was Boschendal. Ligia booked part of our reservation but I also did because I'm a planner,
We hired her to pick us up and be our guide independent of the travel group we were traveling with. My husband and I went mountain biking at Boschendal before our picnic lunch and then we met up with Ligia for the scheduled wine tasting.
We had a lovely time, and Ligia was very helpful. She explained that she focuses her normal tours on the smaller wineries (and I can see why, Boschendal was beautiful but bustling, and it would have been nice to have a more intimate tasting experience) but I wanted access to wines that I know I can get here in the states, and I know my small wine shop down the street has Boschendal wines.
Ligia was SO helpful when going through the wines. My husband isn't a wine drinker, but he was all for the tasting and after we were through and he understood the differences in wines and could actually taste the differences in certain wine regions, he is now enthusiastic about wine! Hooray!
We went to another winery and rushed through it because we wanted time to get to a third. that mountain biking took up too much time! If we could redo it, we would skip the mountain biking and just spend the day with Ligia learning about wines! She was fantastic.

We had a wonderful 2 day wine tour with Ligia de Coito while visiting Franschhoek. She is truly an expert in her field and planned a great itinerary for my husband and I. She has a wonderful personality and is easy to spend time with. She has great relationships with the wineries and her depth of experience and knowledge is quite impressive. She also gave us spot on recommendations for places to eat both in the area where we were staying and also for our visit to Cape Town. She is resourceful, helpful and is very invested in making sure you have a worthy experience. We will look her up again when we return to the area and recommend her services to our friends!

Wonderful day tasting wines in Stellenbosch and Franschoek. Our very knowledgeable guide Ligia explained the history of the areas, the wine farms, the wines, etc. Thoroughly enjoyed our day!

I took a half day tour during a short stay in Cape Town. I had limited time and wanted to get a taste of South African wine, which I hadn't real tried before the trip. It was great to have someone who knew the area and wine to lead the tour, and the wine was fantastic.

From the get go our experience with the Wine Desk was fantastic. I started communicating with Ligia back in August. Our plans changed numerous times, including a big reduction in our almost confirmed tour due to our surprise pregnancy. Ligia was nothing but exceptional with her patience and communication throughout.
Our 1 day tour started with an 8:30am pick up from our accommodation in Franshoek. We then took a beautiful drive out to Walker Bay.
Ligia planned the day to a tee factoring in different routes for our drive there and back. Whilst it was well organised the day still felt flexible and relaxed.
Ligia was wonderful; she was extremely knowledgeable about the area, history, wineries, wine makers and of course the wines!
There a two significant points that set Wine Desk apart, apart from the Wine Guides themselves;
The first is the initial process of submitting a 'profile'. Ligia makes a concerted effort to match vineyards and wines with individuals preferences for experience and varietals.
The second is Wine Desks own commitment to service, and quality over quantity. We visited four vineyards over our day which is far less then past wine tours that we've been on however it worked. We had the opportunity to take our time, order snacks if we felt peckish and just enjoy the experience. The service from the staff at the vineyards and interaction at each was impeccable. Each of the vineyards that we visited we ended up purchasing from!
All in all we had a wonderful day. We absolutely loved the experience and enjoyed Ligia's company throughout. We would recommend to anyone that is interested in wine!

We had a wonderful day today on the wine tour. We had a private tour by Ligia who collected us at 10:30am in Cape Town and dropped us home at circa 18;00.
Ligia was fantastic - she was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly but also good fun.
She took us to some great vineyards and really knew her stuff .
We had an amazing lunch at the Rupert and Rothschild vineyard- it was about £20 for a beautiful lunch with wine pairings .
Very highly recommend

My husband and I were in Cape Town for a week. On our list of must do's was a tour of their wine country. We booked online just 2 days prior and found the online process easy and straight forward. Ligia got back to us in 24 hours with thorough logistics. Mark was our guide and simply amazing. He not only gave us a tour of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek but also provided us with a rich history lesson of Cape Town - something we did not expect but greatly appreciated. Mark is a wonderful storyteller. He's funny, energetic, considerate and knowledgeable. We toured several wineries, had a wonderful lunch at Rupert and Rothschild and were able to see parts of Cape Town from a local's view point. Thank you Ligia and Mark for the wonderful day!
