In August of last year I completed my bucket list dream of skydiving and Sky Dive Cape Town were the perfect partners to make the experience, fun, easy and safe. My biggest concern was not messing up my part- and then I realized I couldn’t mess up, my amazing tandem partner was literally doing all the work (even scooting us out of the plane) and all while making me laugh and feel extremely comfortable.
SDCT will also take photos and make you an impressive video of the experience in a short amount of time. I highly recommend doing this on your next visit to Cape Town!

Amazing experience that I'd recommend to anyone! I'm terrified of heights but the instructors put my mind at ease by talking through what would happen step-by-step. You could tell they all really enjoyed their job and wanted to make the experience fun for everyone.
The views were incredible and the option to take home a USB with photos and a video is something I'd definitely recommend taking up.
The team were responsive to emails/WhatsApp (e.g. Confirming the weather was appropriate to jump before setting off) and you can book a taxi to collect you through the booking process so it was all really seamless!
There is also a little cafe on site to hydrate and grab a cake afterwards :)

Close to Cape Town and easy to get to. Simple checkin and set up. ALWAYS FELT SAFE! Shot Izzy for the radical spins on way down😁👊🏼. Must get video and photo package.
One suggestion- maybe play music for those watching and waiting to create more atmosphere

First off - I didn't get to jump. I contacted the team about a jump but the weather didn't go my way. This review is to tell you that the guys did everything they could to accommodate me and I can only imagine how great they take care of their clients that get to jump.

When I was 16, my family and I visited Cape Town for the second time. This time, I was looking forward to hikes and all kinds of extreme sports. When I found out about skydiving, I knew there was no way I would allow this opportunity to slip away. I was not nervous at all before the jump, since it was tandem and I knew I could trust the person to whom I was attached to, who was a professional. During the frefall, though, I felt my soul jump out of my body. A while later I felt a surge of adrenaline; it was one of the most exhilarating moments of my life. The excitement did not fade away even when my parachute opened and I was able to navigate through the sky. It is an unforgettable experience.

First time going skydiving and the people were incredible. They made us feel welcome from the start and helped calm any nerves. Gave us a great video and picture package so we can relive the memories. The jump had great views and an amazing experience worth doing thanks to Izak and Rainer.

The guys at SkyDive Cape Town are top people and the friendliest bunch you'll meet. It's a very professional and well run business with safety at its core. I jumped with Rainer, a German instructor who is super cool and an absolute hero. After giving full instruction and explaining everything I needed to do, he said "don't worry if you forget I'll just do it for you"...😂
The next 20mins consisted of us both chatting about football and the occasional digression to the surrounding scenery. Before I knew it we were dangling out of the aircraft and out the door.
Rainer even let me control the parachute on the way down and do some spirals which was pretty cool. One of the best things you'll ever do and with the coolest guys.
The best things in life are on the other side of fear 👌
Thanks guys!

Had a great morning at Skydive Cape Town recently. Very professional but chilled at the same time.
I recommend getting the video for some cool photos and a sick video of your jump.
Thanks Jan & the team. One of the best experiences of my life.
Just a tip.... Google maps took me on the main road and then down a long stretch of uneven dirt track that took about 20 minutes to navigate. If you take the coast road, R27, you will only encounter 5 minutes of dirt track.

We had such a great experience, we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. The crew was very friendly and made us feel relaxed. They explained everything, and answered all our questions. Overall, it was a mind blowing adventure for us. We had so much fun.

My wife and I did a tandem Skydive during our recent holiday in Cape Town, and thought it was wonderful. Cape Town has to be the ultimate place to Skydive due to the weather and scenery. It is also a reasonably cheap place to Skydive. We paid 1250 Rand each, plus a further 500 rand to have my Wife's jump videoed.
The jump site is located some 20 to 30 minutes north of Cape town, and is very easy to get to, as you simply drive along the R27 coastroad until you see the signs, then it is a 2km ride down a dirt track.
We booked in advance, however others who jumped on the same day as us just turned up on the day.
When you arrive you sign an indemnity form, which is pretty standard practice whenever you do any activity in South Africa, you are then kitted out, and walk out to the single engine plane. I for some reason expected there to be seats, however it is pretty basic, only the pilot has a seat. The jumpers are tightly packed in, with little space to move. Capacity excluding the pilot is 6, when we jumped this was my wife, myself, the tandem masters, video cameraman and one other.
It took about 20 minutes for the plane to get up to the 9500 feet from which you jump, with the views from the plane getting more and more awe inspiring, by the time we reached the jump height we could see all the way down the cape peninsula to Cape point.
When you get over the initial shock of leaving the plane it is actually very exciting. The freefall element lasts about 30 Seconds and feels like flying. It is surprising how much control the tandem masters had in their movement. The main sensation is of the wind. All too quickly the parachute opens, and then it is a very gentle glide back down to Earth, you will be allowed to take control of the parachute, it is very easy to operate.
Before the Jump I was slightly worried about the landing, but I need not have been, it was very soft, and in to deep sand.
I would definitely recommend paying the extra to have the video cameraman accompany you as it is over so quickly, and you soon find yourself wondering if you had actually jumped. The video we got lasts about 7 minutes, we also got a disk containing 96 photos that the cameraman also took .
Finally I have to say it is not nearly as frightening as it appears to most people, really you just need to counteract your own fear, as it is more in the mind than a reality. We took out insurance before we jumped for piece of mind, and was surprised that the insurance companies do not regard Skydiving as a particularly dangerous sport, scuba diving, and most winter sports were considered worse risks.

Does the cost include comprehensive insurance or do you need to have dangerous activity insurance on top of standard travel insurance

Hi,
My wife wants to skydive. We will be staying at Ritz Capetown around 13-15th Dec. Wanted to know about the price, pick up and drop facility, duration of event, area covered, best time of the day, height? She will be doing it for the first time.

This is my personal experience here but if you want an accurate answer, I'd suggest you to email the company and/or call them. They were very helpful for me :) We rented a car and drove to the location but I believe that they do have a pickup - just double check. It was about an hour in all - short plane ride, the falling bit isn't very long either. That + preparation before the jump and getting the CDs etc. must've taken about an hour. It was also my first time jumping - there's a great view of the coast from up there, it was very pretty :) Goodluck to her!
