As a day trip out of CPT, this is one of my favorite in the world! Best combined with stops to Hout's Bay (Seal Colony and nice waterfront and beach), Simon's Town (fantastic penguin colony), Chapman's Peak drive (seriously beautiful seaside drive on rock cliffs and the Cape of Good Hope National Reserve (very nice NP). I have used Daytrippers... More

Our hotel Villa Costa Rose recomended we use Hilton Ross tour operators since we did not want to drive. This was the best idea as it was cheap at R725 per person for the tour down to Cape Point. Breath taking and a must when in Cape Town. We had a stormy day which made it even more rugged and... More

The view from Cape Point is the most beautiful view I've ever seen in my life. Simply stunning. It's a little bit of a trek (or you can take the tram) and it was an expensive tour but the views are amazing. Don't skip this.

If you love nature, stunning views and being outdoors then I definitely recommend you visit Cape Point! My wife and I had a free day in Cape Town before flying back home to London and we booked on a day tour of Cape Point and the Peninsula with Cape Town Safaris. We are a very active couple and so we... More

It's definitely pointy! Go on a clear day for the best views. Walk up t o the light house and take a good camera. The Table Mountain National Park is very nice, you might see the odd Baboon, take time to drive around and visit the Cape of Good Hope whilst you're there The Two Oceans restaurant at Cape Point... My wife and I visited Cape Point as part of a group tour in September 2010. We chose to have lunch at the fast food restaurant (cheap and quick food) by the parking lot before taking the Funicular to the mid point and the lower viewing points rather than continue upward to the light house. The main walkways, which branch... More

Cape Point had such amazing scenery, with picturesque bays, beaches, hills and valleys. You can have a picnic, talk a walk or hike, or go biking.

We were in Somerset West and decided to take the scenic route back to Cape Town (along the coast). There is beauty everywhere you look. Cape Point magnificently caps off the coastal drive. We were fortunate in the end that we arrived nearing sunset. The views were spectacular and the ocean glistening. Feels like you're at the end of the... More

Earlier this year, I was lucky enough to have my own personal guide for Cape Mountain and Field's (www.capemountainandfield.co.za) 'Strandloper' walk along the coast at Cape Point. I didn't expect that a 2-hour, flat walk would take my breath away, but this one did! I even sat in a whale's jaw bone on the beach! My advice is to take... More

We just had a lovely afternoon at Cape Point! 2 of my friends have knee problems, so we took the funicular up (it's only about $3, with $1USD more to get the descent too, so we did). The views were absolutely stunning! I climbed to the top by the lighthouse to get a view of the other side of the... More
