Super street
Dec 2019
A colorful colonial-style street with many restaurants, bars and shops. All night life is here. Safely.

Oct 2019
Visited Pizza hut for lunch, pizza was good as it should be at the pizza hut but place is filthy and without maintinance. Table was broken, chairs were very old and made all kind of noices. Not a nice place to sit down and eat.

The only place in Summer in the central city for a cool down
Jan 2019
The baths are full of history and there is still a kind of Victorian feel. Although not modern it is clean and user friendly.

Be totally aware if you drink solo on Long St. My drink was spiked and I was robbed. A good samaritan got me home ( god bless you) .The locals I loved, but there are a lot of undocumented refugees living on their wits. If you are white in a black bar, you have a T for target on your back.

Indoor pools
Oct 2018
These are amazing indoor heated pools, offering sauna baths, steam baths and swimming pools, very clean and hygienic. Amazing experience. Opens early at 07am and closes also early at 04pm.

The architectural buildings are admirable. The food joints mostly amazing. A nice walk down the street with a variety of things to see could be great. I would say it’s a must pitstop but safety comes 1st be careful around this place, better do the pitstop during the day with a group of friends or some1.

Don't go after dark.

Some lovely restaurants but if you find yourself here after 10pm you can guarantee you will be mugged. We went twice this week and experienced two attempted muggings. In one instance we were 5 friends and were surrounded by about 12 men in the middle of a street with onlookers and held and knife point. We manahed to fight them off but they simply sauntered away, no fear of police. There are so many other places to go in Cape Town; stay away from long street.

Lively and a tad shady

It’s certainly worth a visit and a stroll around, but the begging has an edge to it, even during the daytime. Avoid eye contact and walk with purpose - they will follow you for quite some time. Keep valuables out of sight, or don’t take them with you at all. At nighttime it gets worse and you need to keep your wits about you. Don’t fall for the ‘I don’t want money, can you just buy me some food?’ line - when you’ve gone it’ll get taken back to the shop for cash...
