Sandy Bay is the unofficial "nudist beach", kept private by no direct vehicle access. This highly inaccessible beach offers a tranquil setting and a good break for surfing.

We came to Sandy Beach because we wanted to experience a clothing optional beach in South Africa. To get here we had to drive to the end of a residential street and park in the designated parking lot. There was a path to get to...More

A quite secluded sandy beach which is not easily accessible to parking. Is only option for clothes-free tanning and swimming in Cape Town. All in all is worth the walking regardless of tanning choices as is indeed secluded.

It is not a family beach. Be also careful not to leave things on the beach and walk alone. For a better place, you can go to Llandudno beach !

Very nice and pretty quiet beach. You can relax freely within a 360 degrees nice views. People walking around are very respectful. The beach is a bit far from the parking but the walking distance is not that bad.

After a 20-minute walk from the parking in Llandudno you will reach this rather big beautiful beach. Try to go there in the morning when it is not so many people there and the wind is not so strong. The water is cold, 12-14 degrees...More

One of the most astonishingly-beautiful beaches in the world is a 30-minute drive from Cape Town. It is called Sandy Bay, a rather plain name in my mind. You drive down through Llandudno and park where the road ends (it's signposted from the main road)....More
